2012 Imprezas at the dealer. Let me put it this way: I'm glad I didn't wait to check them out before trading the Cruze. They were base models though... with hubcaps and black mirrors.

Black on black 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-spec in center city. The wheels and updated lighting/grilles make a big difference, decently aggressive looking and had V8 burble poking along.

Mustang II still shaking my head as to why they were ever built and I even toured the plant in 74 they came off the line like every 51 seconds :nono:

Beautiful, late model Corvette Z-06 in grayish blue with black wheels, traded in at the Porsche dealership.

Came out of the elevator in my office building's underground parking garage....heard a rumble, as a minty-condition, apple green '71 Road Runner came rumbling down the ramp...covered in rain droplets, black strobe stripe over the roof and c-pillars, lights on, '383' on the hood insert badges.....mmmmm....Mopielicous!!! My favorite style of Road Runner.

Black Volt, first one I've seen in person, with a giant cowboy hat on the dash, it was at an old folks home, i think they look pretty good in person.

Brand new white BMW M1 on the corner. Lives on my street. Tiny car, huge fender flares and huger wheels. Cool regardless.

Met owner at the gas station last night and video'd, instead of getting a shot. Burbly startup but also pretty quiet.

Just the other day, saw an all-white 911 GT3 pulling into the gas station while I was filling up.

Driven by a 70something-year-old man that seemed to be struggling to figure out how to put gas in...

Another while cruising on 76 siting...GTO. Stealthy.

Tonight in the dark coming home, the first new 2012 Passat I've seen in person, on 76. Navy blue, mid level. Was driving beside it and kept thinking...that Jetta looks long...ah, temp tag, it's new...wait, it's a Passat...plain...and long. Oh well.

I've mistaken the two twice this month already as well.

Saw my first 2011 Chevrolet Captiva, at work when I was leaving yesterday. I work for a pharmaceutical company that has a large sales force that get to choose their vehicle for work. I see all kinds of stuff, from Ford Escapes to Audi A4 wagons to now the Captiva. I'll have to go outside in the daylight hours to get a better shot (for some reason my flash on my Droid was off). When I first saw it, I thought someone put VUE XR rims on a XE model, then noticed the Chevy bowtie on the hubcap and then it hit me it was a Captiva.

*EDIT: Just looked out the 3rd floor window and saw it in the parking lot:

do they sell the Captiva in the US market now? did I miss something, or is that just a fleet spec?

It's fleet. The sales force of my company get a work vehicle (there's a whole department devoted to the procurement, maintenance/insurance, and release of company vehicles). They buy so many that all company employees are entitled to GM Supplier pricing and whatever Chrysler gives. Seeing this makes me wonder if I can fleet order a Caprice PPV :scratchchin: (yeah right! )

Captiva...interesting. Good way to build out the work put into making the Vue, and keep it going...new grille, new wheel center caps, new emblems and the DI 3.0L, and you're good to go. Fleet perfect. I've still never seen one in Philly.

Saw a new XJ driving in my opposite direction yesterday. Definitely has a road presence... stands out, but isn't bombastic.

Coming out of a restaurant last night, there was clean mid '90s Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign parked next to me...what I noticed was how low and relatively long the decklid was...quite a contrast to the styling trends today where deckids are six inches long and the leading edge is 4 feet off the the ground.

I always liked the crisp shape of the Mark V...my Dad considered buying one back in the day, but went practical w/ a 4dr '77 Continental for the family car at the time...

OK how about this one after dusk I spied a 67-69ish Chevy short wheelbase flat nosed Chevy 90 inch w/b mint I was just stunned haven't seen one that wasn't in a show in like two decades it was like this pix but the short body and windows.

Pretty nice Mark there, Olds; they still had real style then.

Saw a circa '66 Rambler Classic, white sedan, decent shape, regular driver parked on side street.

I always liked both the Lincoln and the Rambler....agree on the style...and neighbors as a kid had a red Rambler wagon they kept immaculate.

Oh, and I saw a 67 IMP SS convertible (NO BS, actually saw it) light yellow, black top, black interior, redline radials on Corvette rally rims with flat caps, decent shape. Seen that thing at a show, 67 IMP SS?

Also saw a nice clean 76 Monte Carlo.

Driving through Princeton, NJ today delivering a car, a shipment of new Range Rover Evoques at the Land Rover dealer, on ground and truck. Extremely cool looking.

Across the street, sort of, then also my 1st in person sight of 2012 Beetle in silver with the retro chrome dish wheels.

Saw an uncommon but once common car today--a Ford Tempo, from around 1985. Very clean shape, white 4dr. Haven't seen a Tempo in any shape in years.

Saw a Lexus Avalon in traffic...a late model Avalon that someone swapped out the front and rear Toyota badges for Lexus 'L' badges. Strange.

A mid 2000's Acura MDX cruising through the city...stock, except for the "A" emblem on the hatch was flanked by stick on chrome emblems "P-E" then "C-E". Peace by Acura. What a look.

Took a different street this morning and saw a couple oddities---a metallic medium blue early '50s Kaiser 4dr sedan in a driveway, and across the street from it, a white '67-68 Chevy extended cab pickup---someone must have made their own extended cab in the past, the truck wasn't shiny but well worn and white w/ a pipe rack..

Black WB4 (wood delete) '95/96 Buick Roadmaster LTD wagon down the street from my house in East Falls, Philly. What a great background.

Today...a new red 2012 Kia Rio hatch on the road. Not bad. Doesn't look as good as photos, at least not in red and in mid-level trim, but not bad.

Beautiful Buick GN with Cragar aluminum wheels. Late-model Mustang Bullit. And a red, white and blue Javelin with the factory style paint job they had available back in the day.

Out on a test drive tonight in the pouring rain, I saw a new Buick nose...differently shaped front grille...thought Lacrosse then "ohhh".

Very stylish new black 2012 Buick Verano splashing through puddles, on a back street in southwest Philly. Really like the rear treatment and profile in person, in real traffic. No temp tag, just PA...must have had it a few weeks already.

The JFK hearse was parked just inside the glass at the Barrett-Jackson showroom on Scottsdale Road when I drove by today... Caught it out of the corner of my eye and had to turn around to see a piece of history up close. Too bad they were closed or I would have gone in.

Late 90's Suburban around the corner from my house...with full Escalade conversion (the '02+ style, made to fit) on the front, emblems on the rear, along with dually rear wheel conversion. Interesting. I stopped in the street to snap.

I don't think she even took the time to test drive one. Her first car was an early-80's Cavalier hatchback, and she was raised around Chevy products (her mom now has a CR-V and her dad drives a Tacoma, but back in the day they had Chevys), but she's a Consumer Reports adherent, I think. I tried. She factory ordered it, and in the meantime her dealer got one from another dealer exactly to her spec, so they surprised her. She wasn't happy about that because she was not prepared. She paid cash for it, no financing, but now she has to unload her Protege.
