Everyone here seems to be thinking about a change of fleet. Camino is looking slowly at getting a better work truck, Balthazar is wanting that nifty Lincoln Flower car, Olds is looking for a car for Albert and a truck for his rental business, Dave 87 RS is thinking about a Cruze, Satty's wife is thinking about a Volvo, Roger wants a Truck, Ocean would be wanting another car if he had Jay Leno's garage, and I'm missing half the Forum.

This thread could be pinned for awhile if Olds wants...but I would like to see if we could get a good discussion going on what we are all actually doing with changes to the C and G fleet.

As for me...I have checked out and or driven a bunch of cars lately, including...

RX8

Firebird

Mach 1 (2003)

VW GTI

VW TDI

Fiat 500

Hyundai Veloster

Ford Focus

Ford Fiesta

Ford Mustang v6

Ford Mustang GT

Camaro (2010)

MINI Cooper S

Ford Fusion

Pontiac G6 retractable hardtop Coupe

Honda Accord Coupe

Civic SI Coupe

Acura TSX

Honda CRZ

I plan on writing some C and G drives...but I am seriously ready to be rid of the wife's 2005 Scion XB, which now has 171,000 miles and is getting due for replacement.

So What is up with everyone else? Regfootballs test drive gene has taken over, I am afraid. But I have two daughters going away to college uin the next two years, my oldest son has moved out...and I am ready for a less family oriented car once again.

Must resist temptation. Though I've cruised through the lot of the local Chrysler Dodge Jeep store 3 times in the last week.

I think we're getting more into the realm of practicality. While the XC70 and 300 are nice cars they're more money than I'm comfortable with right now. I'm really hoping for a Subaru to get some consideration.

Realistic window for me to buy a new car is probably around fall 2013, I'm really only considering Cruze LTZ, or a Verano but for the price I think the Cruze LTZ maybe offers more content than the Verano base model for the price (I've been going back and forth on that one constantly).

Still looking for the right 94-96 FW to tide me over if a more tidy one should present itself for the right price but because of where I live that has the potential to take a while so that little side project sits on the back burner until such a time as the right opportunity presents itself. I've been doing nice little mods to our cars here and there to keep me sane.

I put a 2012 Impala LTZ leather shift knob on my 2007 LS, feels a lot less cheap now and matches my leather steering wheel. I don't understand why that wasn't done to begin with. Two minutes and a Phillips screwdriver is all you need. I've been thinking about adding the Auto-Dim mirror from the Impala SS to my '07 also as that's also a fairly simple and inexpensive swap one type for the another type of change-up. I've done some other little stuff with our other cars that I'll have to post about here and there when I have time.

Well, after finally getting that better job/ in process of house shopping, there should be some fleet change going on....and I plan to keep it simple. Looks like the current fleet may stick around-

The 03 Cavalier will be the 2nd family car, if the wife wants to give it up ( she doesn't want to right now)

The 04 Cavalier may go custom, though I would like to take it auto Xing.......

My Cobalt will just become more of what it is now, a beater (winter or otherwise)

The Additions (granted these could change) would be an older cute ute (Escape, Vue) which I would personally redo/update, along with a 2012/2013 Cruze LS...or maybe an Eco......

Dude, the new Wrangler has the really neat updated V6, and the new Grand Cherokee is probably the hotest vehicle in its segment...what are you waiting for?

You can laugh but I see some really well done J bodies floating around. You should follow up on this idea. Start by going to Tire Racks website and checking out some nice plus one wheel and tire packages, and think about a set of Koni FSD shocks.

Please do post about this when you have time. Don't let the past whinging about W bodies keep you from posting what you have done and where you have been with your beasties.

Also, the Cruze front end styling is really growing on me, in some ways I like it better than the Verano.
