I'd give my left arm for a Toyota Camry...actually...just take my left arm, you can keep the car.

Went to a rock concert with my 18 year old son, and 46 year old me thought it would be a great idea to get in the Mosh pit for the first time in a few decades...and spend about 4 hours there. Ended up moshing with a guy twice my size....knocked him on his keister...sore...esp. left arm

Next day, pulling a -part off of a vehicle that hadn't run in awhile, had to reach up to a spot I couldn't see well into...and reached my left arm right into a nest of yellow jackets. painful!

Had to go to the doctor, girl is usually great at drawing blood, she couldn't find a vein in my right arm for some odd reason, drew from the left. Took her forever to find a vein...ended up taking my doctor and twenty one year old daughter holding my arm down so that she could get the needle in...she was really digging around...ugh...

Ever since I'e started with the Whole Screen name change thing....Fords have been doing wierd stuff in traffic...and I mean really wierd. A Fusion driven by an old couple almost ran me off of the road Saturday...and I've seen three Tauruses catch fore this week...one burst into flames in front of me on the way home. No kidding...

And then looking off of a rooftop as I was doing some HVAC work...saw a wrecked car on a trailer...was a Taurus that had experienced an electrical fire of some sort...just plain odd.

Yesterday wt work was one of the worst ever...put a new part in a unit and for no apparent reason the very expensive computer motherboard decided to blow up in spectacular fashion...don't know why...

One of my co workers who has tons of experience and never makes mistakes created a huge Freon leak at our best customer, which was a mess...two other guys had similar luck...and then the owner of our company/my boss learned that he'd had a close family member killed in Afghanistan.

Went to title the Chevy work van I just bought, and the lady at the title agency created a huge hassle for me...

Enough of my bitching...bitch about your lives or whatever. Shared pain is good pain!

The other night I wanted Kool-Aid but we didn't have any and I didn't want to go to the store to buy only one packet, so I did without.

I'll join in with you, Horse.

Tuesday, October 11, will be my one year anniversary with my current "job" (contingent, aka 'temp', worker) at a pharmaceutical company. There have been virtually no permanent jobs available to apply for, and I can only work contractually for two years before I must leave (some weird NJ state labor law). So one year down, one to go. A downside of this arrangement that I'm in is that I get no paid sick or vacation time, no benefits (which I do have medical coverage through the wife), and no perks or bonuses like the permanent employees. I interviewed for one position in early July but didn't get it (there's 3 people on my team and we all applied for the one headcount), and submitted my application for another position in HR but was never offered an interview. My manager stated that he has asked and submitted paperwork for another position, but so did the rest of the Diabetes Marketing team (he said he heard 67 other managers in DM asked for headcount positions). Hopefully something works out soon. I do get daily alerts of job postings, however most of them are grades higher than I qualify for (I qualify for grades 4-7, most postings have been grades 9-16), and I'm limited with my education degree and background in a medical-based business.

Had a fright last week with a near drowning in my pool. And the oldest of my dogs is not long for this world, I'm afraid.

Besides unemployment and still not having the chance to put the transmission in my car, I got railed while in my buddy's van the other day. In a rare case , I never saw him... he claims he had no brakes, and since there was no brake lockup, I didn't even hear him coming. Pushed a loaded van 15 feet, according to MY skidmarks. Luckily van held up well... his fullsize SUV didn't fare as well. How well I fared is still up for debate... sore and tight and debating a trip to the doctors.

Fun fun.

I ate too much chili and cheese, ran out of toilet paper, the battery on my laptop is at 23%, and the house is full of guests that don't leave until two hours later.

How do I venture out the washroom door, into the room un-wiped, and to another washroom with my dignity still intact?

I'm kind of hungry, sushi dinner did not fill me up. I've got no snack food left in this place, and it's a little late I don't feel like putting on socks and walking to store across the street for junk food. Guess I'll have to go to bed a bit hungry or eat dry cereal.

I'm having lousy connectivity at home tonight...trying to connect to the work VPN to check on some deployments. And my sister's flight is delayed getting in by at least 45 min, so my weekly airport run is later than usual. Looking forward to watching F1 practice from Japan later.

And with this we have two very different threads in one. One of those is for people to vent frustrations with the serious problems life presents. The other is first world problems.

Into the 7th month of my current contract, glad to be working a steady 40 hrs now w/ little or no overtime..the 80+ hr weeks in July were rough. One project went into production tonight w/o drama, another on Monday. And I have 2 more projects to work on through the end of the year, so nothing to worry about right now on the work front. But there is some drama in the real life, but mostly positive..

When America regains first world status, you too may have the privilege of worrying about the social customs and intricacies of pooping!

Careful what you wish for.... You want to join me in enduring open heart surgery in a month?

*sighs*

if it was JUST the surgery, I'd be OK ... but a lot of other things going on ... or not happening, as the case may be. Ugh.

Not yet over the stunning news that our assistant manager, a lady I've worked with since I moved back to PA at TWO different bodyshops since 2003, is leaving to take a job as a manager at a new bodyshop in town. She's my work buddy through thick and thin. She's 65 years old, we all thought she'd retire with us... :( I feel like a new orphan...

Four hours to go before a two week vacation (ten days of which will be on the other side of the country) and everyone's piling on at work. This after mostly being left alone to work on long term projects for most of the last month or so.

I've done enough bitching and whining about my woes via facebook.

Essentially, the Legacy is turning into a money-pit. I love the car, but its holding up about as well as my Golf was. It's snapping lug studs like crazy, the brake rotors are warping for a second time, the rear struts have begun squeaking, the control arm bushings went out, and recently an oil leak developed, presumably from the passenger side valve cover, that produces a wonderful smell and smoke show via the hood scoop. In addition to that, I have some factory maintenance due, namely a timing belt change. In effect, I'm going to be looking to unload it for something more trustworthy and economical after I find the time to make all of the repairs.

Meanwhile, I'm having absolutely no luck in keeping the CRX on the road. I've had the hood latch seize, my hood fly up twice, once smashing the windshield (as posted), and ever since I replaced the radiator I've had everything in accordance with the coolant system fail one after the other. Getting the CRX reliably on the road is key to getting the Legacy's repairs finished.

I think I'm ready to give up on cars and just get a Camry.

A car collided with a power line at high speed near me, causing a fire engine and two paramedics to arrive and traffic to back up for blocks. That power pole also had the cable line for my fast internet. Now how am I supposed to use Playstation Online!? Singleplayer is for looooooooosers.

My rife got Kool-Aid but not orange Kool-Aid so I have to drink grape like some savage refugee.

And my so-called smart phone autocorrected wife to rife.

My cell phone insurance keeps paying to fix my phone when what I want is a new phone.

You want to do what one of my wife's co-workers did ... He let it fall out of his pocket into the snow, and then accidentally found it with the snow blower. It wasn't fixable that time.

Unfortunately its supposed to be near 80 today. Maybe I'll throw it in the river, then they'll have to replace it.

Our daughter left hers in her jeans pocket and it did a cycle through the washing machine ... then got baked in the dryer. Unfortunately that one wasn't insured and was under contract, so we had to buy a replacement phone.

A real job would be nice.....I'm tired of dealing with retail. Maybe something a little less than dealing with the public....

Honestly, Finding a decent job (one that might actually make 30k), is my only gripe right now.

Just a big F'ing one.....cussing.gif

Ha, just don't get wrapped up in a brand new car that six months later you can no longer afford due to a job that wraps you up in long shifts that, intentionally or unintentionally, stacks the deck against you. Sure, you may not have to pay for much maintenance with that brand new car, but you'll also be committed to the loan you took out to buy it for one hell of a long fortnight (something you'll conveniently forget when you buy that new car). Don't forget what consequences are being held over your head if you neglect your little commitment in any way because if you do, you'll be picking yourself up by your boot straps and trying to make it out of financial hell by the skin of your teeth.

I was shot in the face with a Nerf gun earlier and the dart didn't stick to my forehead so I didn't get to run around pretending to be a narwhal.

I just used my phone as a flashlight in order to get across the room and find my charger and plug the phone in. Now I have to re-navigate the dark room sans flashlight.

I'm confused... how do long hours at work translate into stacking the deck against you financially?

If you are hourly, you get more hours... hence more pay. If you are salary, you knew your salary when you signed for the car note. In either care, hours spent at work normally are hours you aren't at the mall spending money.

BTW, whatever happened to your idea that you got such a good deal on the Challenger that you could sell it and break even (or make a profit) if it proved too much of a strain?

Probably that whole 'economy' thing.

My new toaster doesn't brown my toast as well as the old one. In order to get the maximum toastiness and buttery-meltiness, I need to push it in again a second time and wait another thirty seconds. What a piece of time-wasting $h!.
