VW is an up and coming car maker.

Passat is doing well, GTI is doing well.

Selling lots of Jettas. and the Beetle refresh should do wonders.

There was no Passat sedan in production for U.S. consumption at this time last year, they were selling the leftovers. CC was the only large sedan they had available at the time.

I checked out the new beetle last week. it's really cool the way they re did the interior. the exterior is still a bit feminine.....but this car makes so much more sense than a mini.

the passat i would be interested in, a S manual.......really cheap ass inside....no biggie, though....the price reflects it.

what sucks is the boat anchor 5 cylinder turd box under the hood.

I could see a Beetle much more than MINI, it has a MUCH higher quality feel, styling is much better, and the whole car just feels much more like someone cared when they designed it and screwed it together.

the new Beetle is a real improvement and the way VW has positioned it really was the only way it could carry on in the US at least.

Mini, i think they need to be careful. it's gotten tired....and now they proliferate the species with a bunch of half baked derivitives.

BMW groop is going downhill fast IMHO...not just MINI. Audi is becoming MUCH more my fav. upscale European b rand, and I am starting to like vW much more than MINI.

Not that I dislike MINI....but they are getting stuuupid....
