Basically, this car is in original condition, The engine was rebuilt 40 years ago and had never started due to a faulty wiring harness. The new looms have been found recently along with all of the trim. The fenders have been chemically stripped and the bumpers re chromed. This is the last V-16 built. Bought by the current owner's husband, 'Bill', in 1961. It had been originally delivered to Hawaii so likely was there when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Bill was one of the early members of the Cadillac LaSalle Club and collected many 38' through '40 Full Classic Cadillacs. He located this car for it's historic value and had it shipped back to Michigan where it has always been stored inside. This an original car in need of mechanical and cosmetic refurbishing.

Is it so wrong of me to have expected there to be a distributor with 16 spark plug wires coming out the top?

Series 90, body 19 is one of 4 cars built. ALL '40 V-16s are hyper rare; Cadillac only built 61 total in '40.

I so wish the beautiful '41 got the V-16 also; a 'suitcase-fendered' '41 V-16 coupe would be awesome.
