Boeing doesn't build their own engines, You're thinking Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, or GE.

Or some combination of the three a-la CFM or IAE...

None the less, it's a heaping serving of awesome. Sort of like Jay Leno's ecoJET turbine powered car.

Rad...the homebrew I'm waiting to see someone build would involve taking a used CTS sedan, two Northstar V8s, an Escalade ESV and a talented body man and engine builder to build a Sixteen facimile...
