Hey guys been a long time since I've posted on the forums so I'd figured I'd give a good return asking for some advice on a piece of Chevrolet history.

I have the opportunity to buy a 1965 Chevy Impala SS 283 Convertible.

Current owner is the 2nd owner and has owned it since the early 1980s. The car has been sitting in his garage for the past 8 years with start ups twice a year. Frame is solid, body needs some work (some rust spots along bottom, pics attached) and the engine runs smooth. The top has a hole and need replacing. Current owner had a true dual exhaust put on (not sure what brand) about 20 years ago from a local exhaust shop.

Anything I should look for that will tell me to stay away from it?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Current owner wants $6500 for it and currently isn't advertizing it.. if he did says he'll list it at $7k ... as for the start ups, not sure if it's exactly two per year while it's been in storage (there may have been more or less) just that's what he told me.

Basically the idea behind it... mechanically, I know very little on cars being the car nut I am... so I've been wanting a project car to learn off of yet something that's a bit unique and not seen too often on the road.

In that case, I'd call this a good choice.

Just check the frame very carefully.
