I took a trip down memory lane as I sifted through posts of years past. I dug all the way back to 2005 when I still sought after the affection of a female and had just started driving my Grand Am. This piqued my curiosity as to the breakdown of all the vehicles that have been in my life thus far. After some time in OpenOffice, I bring you this lovely spreadsheet.

23 different modes of vehicular transportation so far. Funny, I am bookended at 6.6L V8 and 1.6L I4. For a self-proclaimed "truck guy", I've owned more cars than trucks. I've owned 6 V8s and 7 I4s, with a mix of 5 and 6 cylinders in between.

A varied diet is good. Now I need a nap.

1) 1990 Dodge Spirit ES: 2.5L Four-cylinder turbo, 5-speed manual, FWD. Traded it in on the Explorer.

2) 1997 Ford Explorer XLT: 4.0L V6, 4WD, 5-speed auto, 4x4. Became a money pit, sold it.

3) 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited CRD: 2.8L I4Turbo Diesel, 5-speed auto, 4x4. Worst build ever. Chrysler bought it back.

4) 2006 Jeep Liberty Limited CRD: 2.8L I4 Turbo Diesel, 5-speed auto, 4x4. Sold it after 120k miles

^ Caddy used the 472 in the non-Eldorados from '70 thru '74, then used the 500 across the line (except Seville ) in '75-76. 472 would be 7.7L for you slavering fans of the metric system.

I hadn't considered actual build locations, rather the origin of the maker. If I did, my German vehicles would feel slightly more Mexican.

1978 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight LS 350 V8, owned from March 2000- August 2001, junked at 194K.

1986 Toyota Camry LE 4 banger, was originally going to be my first car passed down from my mother, but I wanted the Olds. After junking the Olds, I registered the Camry in September 2001 and got new brakes and various other work on it done ( It had been sitting in the garage for a few years ) drove it for 2 weeks when the head gasket went at 116K miles. Total time in use, 2 weeks. "Owned" from 1997-2005, and in those 8 years drove it for 2 whole weeks total lol.

1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale 350 V8, bought in October 2001 and still currently own it.

1996 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6, inherited from my grandfather after his passing in October 2002. Traded to my father at 45K miles with a blown tranny in early 2003 for his car...

1985 Chrysler 5th Avenue 318 V8, was my father's car traded to me in exchange for the Taurus. Owned from Feb or March 2003- the end of 2004 or early '05.

1996 Buick Riviera SC 3800 V6, Purchased March 2006, currently still own it.

1989 Honda Prelude - hand-me-down - red/peeling clearcoat - 5sp manual - don't care enough to remember the engine - siezed thermo/blown headgasket/siezed engine/blown transaxle--hooned it when it was apparent it was dying; went out in a blaze of glory.

1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - bought used (one year old) - Black - 6sp manual - 5.7L LT1 - overheated itself in rush hour traffic 4/20/04; damaged right head--in process of engine rebuild, perhaps full restoration; that's my baby, it's not dying on me!.

2005 Chevrolet Cobalt Base coupe - bought new - Black - 5sp manual - 2.2L I4 - just had its second clutch replacement (probably my fault), in need of a tune-up in the worst sort of way.

Thread revival!

 

I wanted to update my signature a bit, so I figured I would just add my line-up of vehicles to it. Seemingly simple, you would think, right? Well, I soon found myself adding in all my past cars, as well. This, in turn, got me thinking about the past and all the various outcomes of each vehicle. I then remembered I started this thread way back yonder in my wonder years... So, here we be. Glorious, eh?
