New Focus is hot...

+1

- 1

It looks like a fish

Of course I will agree with the +1 over the current model. However, I would look at a Fusion over the Fiesta (too small & tight for my tastes, though the wife likes it) and the new Focus (can't stand the fish mouth grille/bumper).

This is just a fun little puppy to maneuver around. A light car that's set up right like this one has such little drama over bumps and around corners. Very fun.

750 miles, just filled it up today for the second time (this will be the third tank, it was full when I drove it off the lot). Had about a 1/4 tank left.

35.8 MPG on this tank, checked the old fashioned way, a calculator. So the car's dash meters seem to be spot on. I am pleased, to say the very least.

New Focus is hot...

I saw my 1st Focus here in Lisbon Saturday night. The front end looks really neat, but the rear of the 5-door hatchback is :yuck: IMHO. To me the Astra's backside is much better looking.

The 350Z made me feel that way during the time I had it ...

I'd shown up at work 45 minutes early one morning because I just wanted to get up and drive there.

Took my first extended highway trip today, 4.5 hours round trip travel time. Stopped to get gas about 45 miles from home. Up to 36.1 average MPG over 1800 miles... this tank, 39.8 MPG, with a couple of sprints up to 75-80 MPH (playing with an Escalade on the 4 lane highway for a while). Beautiful day it turned out to be, listenin' to The Roadhouse and BPM on the Sirius all day.

Latest tank of gas was 41.6 MPG, with a theoretical range of 457 miles (it still showed "20 miles to empty" when I turned it off at the gas station). Pleasant. And gas is back up to $3.65 tonight here.

That is with one trip back from Assateague, MD on Monday (I filled it when I got down there, 10 miles from the beach) and one round trip to Lehighton, PA today. I was running it part of the way with the A/C on both trips.
