Who else should get Hybrid?

Well we know at this point that Saturn, Chevy Trucks and GMC are getting hybrid models. Who else in GM should get a model with hybrid? It would be nice to see a Cobalt hybrid that can take out the Prius and Civic Hybrids in seconds. Edited September 3, 2005 by ToniCipriani

I would love to see the Impala get a hybrid variant. Although, it's unlikely because I believe the Malibu is to get one first.

I agree I think the BAS should replace the starter on ALL models. Think of it this way, you now have a car that has no separate starter, pretty much no chance of grinding teeth off the flywheel. The car shuts off at stoplights and the driver can pretty much never tell a difference. What is the problem with that? OK manual cars won't be able to shut off because they have to hold their place when stopped but still put BAS in cars across the line and the reduced costs of no starter and spead out cost of the BAS system will pay for itself in 1 year.

Chevrolet first, then all the others gradually. Bring the Hybrid power to the masses. Just imagine what kind of mileage the Malibu would get with a Hybrid system... Best in class by a considerable margin.

Shit, I voted Chevy cars but didn't notice the All of the Above option. Chevy needs them the most so it can help them be profitable. Next Buick and then Pontiac. Cadillac should get one or two as well but saab and Subaru can wait.

I think Buick and Cadillac should get some Hybrids. The Lexus GS has one, so the CTS and STS should get one. The Lexus RX has one so the Rendevous and SRX should get one. My crystal ball says that Acura will have them soon too.

If Oldsmobile were still around, they should have been the candidate for the first hybrid as they were the technology leader. I thought the next Malibu was supposed to get a hybrid also. As for particular vehicles hybrids should be rolled out in, all mid-size crossovers and SUVs seem logical, for all brands.

I have not heard that it was cancelled. It would be the BAS system which is very simple so I would guess it is still on. Same system would be on the Vue greenline and Aura Greenline.

If GM wants to compete on the environment scene, they need to off a hybird version on almost every vehicle they sell.

I'm not entirely certain there are any profitable hybrids on the market yet. It would probably bring in more traffic to the dealerships but hybrid tech is 'spensive!
