surprises you?

I got to ride in a 96 Park Ave....and loved it!

I'm not usually into "boats"...but there is something about it I just love...

It was loaded, even with a moonroof....

If I could find a 93-98 with lower miles in could shape, I think the wagon would be gone in a second....

Has there been a car just surprised you? (good or bad)

My Caprice's I always thought of them as subsonic land cruisers but there fast badass handling machines.

Ah, Caprices are fun...but I would have to be in one in good shape.

Every time I ride in one, the darn thing is on its last leg.. :(

Have to wait until I'm in a one in good shape... 8)

yeah its hard to find one in good shape its just that there bullet proof. and have power. They last for ever my 91 had 198,000 untill it was smashed. and when i went to that junk yard a week later the engine and every good body panel was pulled. along with a beaten 200,000 mile trans.

not the most fuel effiecent rides.

I car that suprised me was the Toyota Camry. I CANT understand why people buy it. I looked at it from a non bias stance and a grand am or Escort was a whole lot better. Its under powered, rattled like mad, Bad panel gaps, not a smooth ride, and did not have suportive seat. the only thing that was good on it was the heater.

A couple of visits ago to New York was for a friends wedding, as the gift, my friend and I was to make the wedding cake. By happenstance, we lucked into a rental deVille. Not only was I surprised, I was shocked at how much better it was than the last Caddy I drove (an '85 deVille). It was great; the only point it even slightly let me down was a bit of tire screech and oversteer on an on ramp. I was really impressed with it.

My Q45 is way more car than I expected or hoped for.... as close to a B-body as the Japanese will ever get.

I've driven several Hondas, esp late 90s Accords that failed to impress me in any way whatsoever. I think Hondas are so damn over rated it's laughable. They're smooth, but so is a Buick and it sucks a lot less.

My Shadow surprised me...last week it got hit by this:

My passenger fender is dented, and I think some wiring came loose or something (my horn and the door chime stopped working) but it drives fine...there was no structural damage besides the fender, no parts broke off, and the bumper bent back into place, and the wheel, which too most of the impact, had barely a scratch on it. His car bounced off mine, and my wheel left a huge impression on his bumper. Both headlights broke, the grill pierced his radiator I think, and his engine was knocking (like something grinding against the fan maybe). After the accident report, I drove away, he couldn't. So what surprises me is that my little Shadow was hit by a bigger Oldsmobile and my car PWNED his ^_^

Also I have some souvenirs of his car that got put in my passenger seat, hah.

I'm surprised about the Olds...

Not so much about the Shadow. I was quite surprised when I saw one just hit a light post, and it just drove away..... :o

The current-gen Corolla surprised me in just how lousy it is. Gutless, pokey transmission, squealy tires, bad body roll, tiny steering wheel, awful seating position, skittery handling, EXPOSED SCREWHEADS!, rattling rear seat, and economy that wasn't that fantastic. Why do people buy these things?

The Ford Thunderbird SC. The first SC I ever saw was an 89' down the street from me with a for sale sign in the window. My dad kept bugging me to check it out but I thought it was ugly and big and just didn't like it at all. Then one day for the hell of it I test drove it. From that day on I pledged to myself that I would own one. The ride was terrific, there was plenty of power, cool features, it was comfortable, the S/C whine was addictive, and I instantly fell in love. I now own a 92 black/black Supercoupe :)

Really? I had the opposite reaction... two of my friends got Corolla LE's, both 2005's, and I was impressed with them. I mean, before they bought them I tried up and down to get them to buy GM, but that was never going to happen. GM sucks... despite what I say.
