Yeah, how the hell did I not come out a 68 Z/28?

My 68 Camaro had a 7000rpm redline ZZ3 smallblock, that's pretty

damn close to a Z-two-eight. Esp. since it had the stripes too.

Anywhooooo....

More sensless killing & cool seat of the pants cinematography.

Another 72 Chevelle SS 454 here...

Hmmm, one year off my brothers Chevelle and you need to make it a convertible. Should I just go tell him that the car in his garage is actually mine?

I'm a . . .

1971 Barracuda!

171174

That's a 1970 right there... the 1971 is much better looking with

quad headlights and a "gills" in its grille remeniscent of the gills

on the side of a 68/69 Corvette but you probably already knew

that. Was that the image they used for a 1971 Cuda?

That pic looks more like a '72...(parking lights below the bumper, grille center detailing).

Another cool photo I dug up in my imageshack account.

Moltar:

As far as the 1972 Barracuda you're right.

I almost forgot that Plymouth went back & forth like that kind of like

1980s Cadillac Fleetwood Broughams. First it was egg crate grilles

then it was the fine-tooth comb style and them egg crate again.

Whether a '70 or a '72, the 'cuda is a fake: it wears AAR striping & logos, and the AAR was '71 only.

Dodge ran a big pic of the Challenger T/A in it's '72 Scat Pack 8-page ad, only there never was a '72 T/A (sister model to the AAR).

1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

You are a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. You love your car....your friends love your car and thats whats most important to you! Your car really hauls ass! You feel bad that they aren't making Camaros anymore....but don't worry...cuz you know they'll be back!

Haha!

Well, everybody knows how I feel about muscle cars anyways, so this whole quiz was kind of a lark.

    * 1973 Ford Gran Torino

171516

I'd be tempted to hang myself if I came up

1973 Grand Torino in this poll. What an ugly

pile of $hit. I have never liked those cars.

The red paint job with a white lightning bolt

on the side was just lame and comes off as

desperate to me. It's like putting lipstick &

french perfume on a adult Hippopotamus

& expecting it to look like Jennifer Aniston.

1973 Ford Gran Torino

You are a 1973 Ford Gran Torino. You love Fords and hate Chevys....but you love seeing the look on their face when you smoke them on the road. Starsky and Hutch is your favorite show!

The '73 Torino looks no worse than other cars of the era. They all were forced to slap on those big bumpers. Take a look at the '73 Chevy, no beauty queen.

Does anyone have access to photographs of GM's A body cars before they were saddled with the big bumpers? I know they were delayed from '72 to '73 due to a strike, so they were supposed to debut with normal-size bumpers.
Posted (edited)

It seems Chevelle and Le Mans didn't start with lighter bumpers. There was the Laguana with the covered bumper.

It's sure hard to find photos of these early A-body cars.

sorry but when i resized it the scaner made it poor quality

Posted (edited)

Yeah... sorry to be a stick in the mud but IMHO any GM car

from the same era azs the Gran Torino is better looking

than the G.T. Only the Mustang II is uglier. It's not just the

bumpers it's also the side... the G. Torino looks like it's a

beached whale with a harpoon slice in its side. Gross.

Not to mention those nasty, tacked on rear lights & cheesy

headlight buckets.

Even though it was the star car of Starsky & Hutch it has

no place in this quiz. I do not eevr associate 68 Camaros,

72 Cudas & 70 CHevelles with those ugly piles of $#it.

If they were going to throw in a FoMoCo product or two

then make it a Shelby GT500KR & a Mercury Cougar.

Most of you already know of this, it's been posted here before.

I can not wait to see the shape of this car. It will be a very

surreal event when they crack open that giant time-capsule.

Here's my contribution to science. The governments of the major countries agree to make a day 25 hours long, giving everyone an additional hour a day to help 'git r done'. I've got 2 jobs going and not enough time for the 2nd one. Who in Jersey is looking for part-time carpentry work?

Wow... 1st time for me!

Very cool, a lot of European models there.

When was this (not) released?

Posted

its was released in the early 2000's when GM's decline was really starting show. it was basicly a moral video that played during a worldwide company meeting.

Ahhh... that makes sense.

Agreed O.B.

The Chrysler BEFORE the work began:

Posted Image

Kind of modern for a 1958 Mopar...

Posted Image

Pretty cool stance! Put the glass back in and let's go to N.E.D. :D

Posted Image

All Viper mechanically, it looks much more elegant with the body ON!

Posted Image

Quite the rear end to show to unsuspecting Porsche 911s & Ferrari 360s.

Posted Image

Posted (edited)

The best of both worlds... 1950s Mopars are wicked cool and

Vipers are not exactly lame either. It's just the 1980s that

Chrysler really did NOT know how to make a car that did not

suck, but damn they can market a pig's ear as a silk purse!

Yup, it's a great issue. Also in the permanent TIGHT WHIP'S literature

collection, along with my '77-'84 Datsun Maxima/810 Haynes manual.

Anyone seen this yet? I must have missed it if it was posted.
