IIRC from my days as a parts counter guy, they are color-coded. (the wire wheel lock key, either metal or plastic)

Oh and Drew, make SURE that you get the key for the wire wheels - it sucks alot not to have it.

Yeah, I know about that one. The guy I'm buying it from is a fellow Toronado lover. He's tried to take good care of it.

I may never have cared for this car (or its siblings), but they stood out in any crowd from day 1. Nothing is quite like them.

And, I actually owned one from '82.

Nice Toronado. Very nice indeed. I did not know had one. Wow.. You learn something new every day.

Got it home today. LOVE IT!

I invited the former owner to join us on CheersandGears. I think he would fit in well here.

I have some nit pick things to address, but it's a complete daily driver right now. I will be needing tires soon though. There is a bad shimmy over 55mph and the tires seem dry rotted.

Congrats and glad you got it home safely! You address those issues, you should be good to go after checking the car out in all other areas. Congrats!!

Yeah, my friend Dominic and I will be going over it with a fine tooth comb, correcting anything we find out of place, and cleaning as we go.

I hope all goes well with what you are planning to do. You are taking me back. I did that starting in 2007 and made a project out of it and brought my Toronado to where it is now. It took money and time, but it was fun too.

Congrats on the find and purchase. I've passed by one the last couple of weeks in Hamilton on the way to the wife's OB/GYN visits; of course this one isn't as nice as the one you bought. But every time I passed it I thought of you and your desire to find one. Your quest for now is over. Enjoy the car as much as you can!!

S10 is a darn nice little truck...went out to dinner with a friend of mine tonight that has one....he bought it new in 95 and it still runs like a million bucks...

But the Ohio winters have not been kind to it....

Now that the 1980s cars like you and I have are very old they are going up in value and collectability. I like your Toronado. I almost bought a 1982 once. A friend had a nice 1981 but in his infinate wisdon didnt check his brake job and ended up destroying it in a bit of a crash.

I see no problemo with the tone of that pipe. However, mister, WHAT DID YOU DANGLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA THERE AT THE END? Explain yourself!:smilewide:

Interesting exhaust noise...there was some sort of wierd creaking noise right before the end of the video. And that garage looks really narrow and tiny!

The work begins on the Toronado. Nice to see you driving it and doing things with it.

Yeah, I should probably start a Project Toronado thread.....
