We have all seen the goods from the NAIAS, what should we expect from the General and others at New York? Maybe one of the other Lambda CUV's? New Full size trucks? Any ideas?

I find pretty balsy of Toyota to release it's Tundra after the GM trucks. It makes me kind of worry that they're so confident enough to introduce 2nd risking people forgetting it.

Chicago is traditionally known as the "truck" show of the year. So many companies bring their trucks to debut there. I don't think it has anything to do with GM.

i read the new 3-series coupe.conv is gonna be at NYIAS, with Lexus trying to steal thunder with their IS coupe concept.

So they must be showing the x5 or x-concept

GMT900's better steal the show. I know they will be different from their previous offerings but Toyota is gunning for the truck market now.

Judging honestly by the Sienna, Camry, and Yaris. Toyota's styling deparments are run by 60 year olds on crack. They are boring yet also ugly. If GM and Ford use this turn off to their advantage they could make a killing in the market. The Tundra will be the ugliest Pick-up in a generation. The Nissan Titan will look beautiful by comparision to the Tundra.

Toyota's biggest weakness is its lack of real competition, GM, Ford, and Chrysler have been sleeping for 30 years or more. Toyota must be fools to think that ugly cars will sell themselves in an era in which costumers will soon realize that GM & Ford build equal if not better cars with better styling. It is sad to see the smug gleam on Toyota's executives' faces because, in a decade there will be tears in those eyes. Toyota is flying to close to the sun and its wings are finally melting.

But that is the problem... As of now ANYTHING with a "T" on it will sell, ugly, boring, inferior or not.. The current Toyota's prove that. And the public has supposedly been waking up to this detroit renaissance for 10-15 years.

Unbelievable that subjective rationale like appearances wouldn't influence buyers. (ahem) I guess they're just like those mean reviewers at C&D!

Toyota has earned an enviable reputation, as their products have become, whether posters here admit it or not, the gold standard and, thus, the default choice of many consumers....newsflash: most people treat their car purchase like choosing an appliance, not an enthusiast's POV.

Toyota's are not exciting, but the promise (if not the actual reality) of reliability and quality are all that most people need. GM has earned their turn in the barrel. Perception takes time to catch up with reality in the marketplace...while GM's current offerings are vastly superior to the 80's & 90-'s, time must pass for the news of Detroit's quality turnaround to convert into actual sales.

Oh, and Autoextremist.com called, they want $1.00 for the blatant, uncredited ripoff of one of their signature put-downs (notgonnahappen.com)

Damn it, why do you have to be so rational? I hate reading a rational arguement.

I prefer reading about the conspiracy theories and black helicopter.
