2010 Lingenfelter Chevrolet Camaro SS - Auto Shows

More muscle for Chevy's modern-day muscle car.

Let's cut to the chase here: Lingenfelter has supercharged a Chevrolet Camaro SS to the tune of 750 hp, 324 more than the stock vehicle.

The extra cojones come in part from of an LS7 (read: Corvette Z06) head, plus new forged pistons and an LS7 crankshaft that yield an 8.8:1 compression ratio. The addition of a Magnuson/Eaton supercharger to the Lingenfelter LS7, however, is responsible for the bulk of the power increase. The company also adds a heavy-duty fuel system, a new twin-disc clutch and flywheel assembly, and beefier rear axles to support the power gains.

Numerous suspension changes are intended to keep all that power on the road, including Hotchkis springs, anti-roll bars, and subframe bracing; Sachs adjustable shocks; and custom 20-inch wheels with Pirelli tires. The Camaro receives a lower front fascia with splitter, a hood with heat extraction louvers, a carbon-fiber grille insert, deeper side skirts, a new rear spoiler, and new quad exhaust tips. Lingenfelter also adds a new steering wheel, machined aluminum pedals, Lingenfelter floor mats and seat embroidery, and a new rearview mirror that includes a video display—presumably for a backup camera.

Lingenfelter's effort should be a quarter-mile scorcher—watch for it at the 2009 SEMA show.
