Meh....sorry I'm sick of USC winning. Hah they are like those Yankee and Laker teams of recent years. Everyone just got sick of them winning all the time. Penn State was a much better story this year. :D

From what I hear, this has been a great game. I got home in time to see USC give the ball up with under 2:00 left and Texas not doing much with it.

Yeah, as soon as I posted that USC got called for a penalty, then Vince Young took over. So much for the three-peat. I'm not going to say USC choked, their track record shows that they dont do that. Young and Texas are clutch, something like 5 comeback wins this year, did anyone actually think it was over when Texas was down by 12? Edited by Satty

That was certainly a great game, as all the BCS bowls were. I think SC gave up on Reggie Bush too early. Lendale did pretty good, but Reggie is the best player in college football, and you need to get him the damn ball if he's on your team. I don't mean to take anything away from Vince Young because he's a hell of a player, but he gets to touch to ball on every play, Reggie touched it probably 15 times when he needs to touch it 25 times.

Meh, it was bound to happen one day. I'll just say this: for whatever reason, we were not playing our best at all. Yet it was still all the way to the end. Two Heisman winners Two National Titles One loss to #2 Texas after a 34 game winning streak Honestly? That's still pretty fucking good.

I don't follow college football... Penn State and Pitt have my interest, but I have no idea how they've done. I've just spent too much time hoping the Steelers make it to the Super Bowl, which, should have happened last year, damnit. :P Also, Zoom, if your cable/dish has it... State channels that broadcast high school wrestling is much better. :D By far... hahaha...

O YEAH GO LONG HORNS THEY PUT THE BEAT DOWN ON THE TROJANS! (Its never a good day to be a trojan because me personaly dont like a mans thing inside of me) but it was a good game, Im so happy for Texas! plus I won $75 dollars.

I wouldn't say a 3 point win at the last 30 seconds is a "beat down" by any means. Oh, well. No team has ever won 3 consecutive national titles, and we were not as good of a team (for whatever reason) as we were in 2004/2005.

Actually I think this is why he didnt get the ball that much:

Bush is more an outside runner. With Texas they planned for this and they stuffed him big time everytime he tried to run except for a few occassions. All night they stopped the Reggie Train and did not allow him to pick up the big yards he normally does. They went with White because he is the power back and can punch it up the middle. However I think Texas focused too much on Bush and when both Bush and White were in that allowed White to pound it up the middle.

Vince Young, what a player now. He single handly almost outrushed all of USC and was responsible for 467 yards total in the game. Not too shabby.

That is what happens when they are over rated and Texas and ND being the only real teams they played all year.

I disagree. USC barely lost, and we looked like shit out there, especially in the first half. Had we kicked instead of attempted the 4th and 2, or had we not been retarded with that facemask penalty, the outcome could have been very different. Last night we had two teams who were more or less equally matched. The better-playing team won.

Yes it was very evenly matched game and USC made horrible decsions! I Can say that the Superbowl will not be as exciting as that game was. just somthing about college sports.

That we did...what hurts the most is that it could have easily been ours...I have no idea what our team did these past couple weeks, but they looked like they hadn't seen a football in months!

Agreed. Reggie can run inside though, the line just seemed to open up the holes better for Lendale, and when you get to the second level of defenders, that's where Reggie gets to break the big one. Lendale runs a person over and then gets tackled, whereas Reggie can make a couple guys miss and outrun everyone else.

I think USC should have lined Bush up as WR to get him out in space. He had 6 catches for 95 yards, and almost all of them were him making people miss in space. I say line him up like they did with Dwayne Jarret, pass him the ball and make one guy miss and then turn it up field with that blazing speed that Jarret doesn't quite have, and you've got a 20 yard gain instead of 8-10 like Jarret.

This was just an interesting thing I found out looking at the stats:

Reggie got the ball from scrimmage (not counting kickoff and punt returns) 19 times for 177 yards, or 9.3 yards/touch. His rushing average was 6.3 yards/carry which is pretty damn good for another back. Anyways, the comparison is that Young ran or threw the ball 59 times for 467 yards, which is 7.9 yards per every throw/run. Vince may have thrown it away a couple times, but most of the time when he was under pressure he just ran instead of throwing it away.

I'm not taking anything away from Young, because he won the game, but everyone was saying (at least at school) that Reggie didn't show up. Well, I don't know what you want him to do, 9.3 yards/touch is pretty damn good if you ask me. When you have the best player in college football on your team, he best touch the ball more than 19 times. You never saw Micheal Jordan only touch the ball 19 times in a NBA Finals basketball game.

I think it was a great game to watch!

Some of the officiating, however, could've been just a wee bit better...lol.

uh...YEAH. If the refs were being fair, we'd have won.
At least we only lost by 3. Not too bad.

Some sore loosers... its alright maybe we'll do it again next year?! Texas was favored for the win going into the game. Texas had a better defensive game and kept USC trying the running game. Make excuses about why either team got there but in the end mistakes and excuses ARE what lose games and points out where the other team capitalizes or WINS on them! Texas won fairly. Lets hear more about next year...

I agree - a lot more evenly match then expected by the media.
