Well, we know MGZ06 is going to Times Square ... but, what about the rest of ya'll?

Heh...I'm surprised nobody has started this particular thread yet....

Anyway, I'll be spending my New Year's Eve alone ... in a hospital bed.... I have surgery to remove my gallbladder tomorrow (Friday) afternoon ... and given my heart history, they may keep me until sometime Sunday (Jan 1).... What fun!

*rolls eyes*

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Good luck, Cort! I wish you the best, good sir! I'll probably be home. Mom says she's having some people over... Plus, I'll most likely get to play some NFSMW, pool, and get the C&G news at 12:01 :) PS. I'm waiting for the Official 2005 Cheers and Jeers thread. *Ahem* bobo? Edited by NOS2006

Good luck, Cort. As for me? Some party at somebody's house. Not sure whose yet. I'll get drunk, as always, even if I have to pay for the alcohol, myself. Play cards, most likely losing money. Oh... and have a damn good time partying! :D Can't wait... Edited by blackviper8891

I'll be drunk at home with a few friends, possibly playing bartender for the parents and their friends since I apparently make the best. cosmopolitans. Yep, a couple more nights and it'll be posted. To build some suspense, I'll note that at least one of the guys posting in this thread will be mentioned.

As for my New Year's Eve, I make an effort to be in bed before the big hour. I traditionally mark the New Year by going to a party the afternoon of New Year's Day.

bobo you can cheat and watch the Times Square ball drop, close your eyes, think really hard, and it'll be 2006 in California.

It's a given that bv will be up in the action :P

Hey bobo do you happen to have archived versions of Cheers and Jeers? The numerous board crashes sent the old ones out to pasture.

That's what I do New Year's Eve. At 9 p.m. west coast, the ball comes down in the east coast, that's good enough for me.

I know I have the last two years, not sure about 2002. I'll repost what I can tomorrow.

At home... we're hosting a small get togeather. :) My first new years resolution is to own a 1959 Buick before Halloween of 2006.

Oh hell... don't get me started on New Year's resolutions... :P To have a six-pack by summer is a good one, but that's never going to happen. To get my grades up, but that'll take either a miracle or some drugs. Either are alright with me. To finally own the 240sx I've been lusting after is definitely one that might actually happen... hopefully. Unless I come across something else that is totally irrestible, that is... :AH-HA_wink: Whatever that may be...

*chuckles* It's so interesting/cool when a thread goes off on tangents ;). He he he! I appreciate the good luck wishes ... thank you! Now...I expect those of you who are partying in any way, shape or form ... to party extra for me ;).

I have no clue what I'm doing. For the last 3 years I've spent the night with my then-girlfriend because it was our anniversary but since we broke up in April I won't be doing that this year, thank God. I don't have to spend money on a gift! I'll probably hang out with some friends. Staying with my parents to celebrate would be the pits.
Posted
I have to work until like 10. I told my girlfriend the other day that I really dont feel like going out or doing anything, she didn't really respond to that even though I know she has plans with friends and has hinted that she wants me to come along. We'll see what happens.

Yeah....I agree.

However, given the choice between alone in a hospital bed or staying with parents ... I think I'd choose the parents ;). He he he

Course....well....if there are very cute, single nurses at said hospital....well, maybe a different decision then ;).

haha.. that reminds me of the time when I had the oral surgen and there was this hot nurse with a near perfect body and then she was there again after waking up from full anesthesia. I'm just glad I didn't say anything stupid when I woke up

As for new years, I might hit up downtown Binghamton (how exciting) with a few friends but then I might get stuck home with the parents (more excitement).

New Years Eve 2002-03 and 2003-04 the Girlfriend went out with her friends an I just hung around the house... at the stroke of midnight I fired up the Camaro in it's Winter Hibernation spot (both times sitting in snow :( ) and fired her up just to start the year off right. That poor girl has seen way too many new years to have gone unrestored.

Not a damn thing planned. Some of my co-workers will probably do something but that will invariably involve alcohol, so I will pass. After Thanksgiving week (including the 2 adjacent weekends) out of the country and Christmas in PDX/SEA, that suits me just fine. Edited by trinacriabob

going to a house party with a few good friends, having a couple cocktails, enjoying the beauty that is life... there's a big show going on, steve porter is actually playing in houston at the meridian for new years, which I'll unfortunately have to miss. too risky roadwise.

There's a person I'd love to spend New Year's with, but he's going to Philadelphia with friends (he said, as he searched my face for a clue.)

I guess I'll be curling up next to a warm computer (yahright) for the evening. No one to kiss this year when the ball drops.

First I am going over to Detroit to Mexican Village for dinner and some golden margaritas. Then I am going to the Motely Crue Carnival of Sins concert. It's at the Palace (outside of Detroit). After that we're hitting up the casino in order to really spend (read:lose) some money!

I'm staying in, me and a friend ;) Then again, we may just go downtown and watch the fireworks.. who knows?

It's cold and pi$$ing rain here in LA and I live near about four sobriety checkpoints, and clubs here that I normally wouldn't want to go near seem to think that because it's new years they can charge $50 to get in the door. So I have a bottle of Veuve Clicquot that I got for X-mas and I will stay in and have a glass and watch "Body Double" on DVD. Nope, I'm not bitter :)

God, this is hitting me harder than I thought. I am so tired of being alone. I want to call him, just to hear his voice, but I can't. I know I'd mess it up. Why can't life be as simple as we want it to be.

Blu...I'm sick of being alone too, so I'm going to take the Solstice & pimp something over 30 years old tonight. One thing I always go by...you wont find anybody by sitting at home, alone.

That's a great question. Sometimes I wish people would just let themselves go when it comes to certain things, try something new and learn from the experience. Instead, they get technical, apologetic and worried.

HA! I speak for myself, too, but not for the same reasons.

Trinacriabob, I know I'm a little late in saying this, but Welcome back to the boards! You were missed.

Thanks, and to all others with similar kind words. BTW, great shot of Philly (poor Ben is either hiding or I'm not looking hard enough).

To Pantho:
Yeah, I can tell from the spelling errors

To Ocn:
It can be bad but it doesn't have to be. Work on enjoying quiet time on your own ... it can be very relaxing ... I sometimes don't want to be around my friends for extended periods of time. Also, my parents used to say "Meglio solo che mal accompagnato" - translation "Better to be on your own than with company that is not appropriate for you" but, not knowing the specifics, I can't comment on your situation and this is probably what you don't want to hear.

Happy New Year to both of you. WTF, I may go dunk myself in some hot springs.

Sounds like ya'll did party extra for me ... GOOD!

I'm back home...but still in a lot of pain :(. I'm hoping that the pain is because of the surgery and not indicative of other things wrong.... At any rate, just checking in for a bit.....

Best wishes kf -- a co-worker of mine had his gallblader removed just a couple of weeks ago. My wife had it done about 3 years ago. It's commonplace to be sore after the surgery (duh), but the gas they use to inflate your stomach cavety takes a couple of days to disipate & causes some discomfort as well. You'll be up and eating greasy food in no-time!

LOL! cmattson, sure hope you are right ... right now, though...aye. I can't believe I'm still wide awake, though given that I've slept most of the last few days, it is understandable. Just wish I could get my "waking hours" and energy aligned to get things done while I have the time....heh. Irony rocks. Course, I'm starting to see some bruises...kinda scary :(.
