Taillight tinting

One of the things I've always liked about the '80s & '90s and some '00s Pontiac models was the dark-tinted taillights that came on the uplevel or GT trim lines. One of the things I never liked about the G6 Sedan is the bright red taillights (see attached picture). I was searching eBay for something and found this product:

Does anyone recommend this procedure, or not reccomend it? With the car being White Diamond Tricoat, I think a darker-colored taillight would look nice. If there's something better to use, I'd like to know about it too.

Opinions, thoughts, ideas would be appreciated!!

I know nothing about this product, but have always liked tinted taillamps so I give the idea a thumbs-up.

Some members on LHF do it to their tail lights, comes out really nice. I like it when the tint doesn't wipe out the detail (not too dark). Although I think I prefer them on darker colored cars.

I think here it is illegal to do that. Typical Wisconsin. They get funny about tinted windows too.

I haven't done this apparently, the wife doesn't want me too!! I'm still interested in darker taillight lenses for the G6 though.

Every state is different. But I'm pretty sure all states require that there be 2 red reflectors that are not discolored or obstructed on the rear of the vehicle. Like the lexuses with the clear lenses, they all have 2 red reflectors as well.

Yeah, my friend was in a bind... he grew up in NY and had his front windows tinted. When he moved to NJ, they wouldn't pass his inspection because the front windows can't be tinted. Each state has has its own little nu(is)ances.
