I just bought a 2LT yesterday. Very nice! It is extremely quiet and smooth running and riding. It has the 2.4. The car has lots of nice details. If you drive one, I think you are almost guarenteed to like it. My sticker was 20995. The Red tag is about a 1000 off of that. They sold 2 more while I was buying mine. Edited by chevelle454

Check out:

HHR Club

For more infomation on the HHR. Read through the forums and get a general feel for the car. Everyone has raved about it since it's launch! You have to see the vehicle in person, it's just that much better in person rather than reading. I will be buying my black 2006 HHR in march, I can't wait!

i test drove one and also had a lenghty convo at the grocery store with someone who bought one. I liked it, but not enough to buy one. In truth, to me its a tossup between the PT and HHR. I would lean to the HHR, its a GM and looks better. I would probably go for a Vibe+supercharger or an Element or a Mazda 5 over either. My biggest beefs about the HHR were the claustrophobic cabin and poor automatic tranny. Had i driven the stick i may have felt different. the window swtiches not on the door would drive me INSANE. I love them in the middle personally. (I'm not an HHR owner, but I've had center switches on a Corsica and a Saturn SC1.)

And Cavaliers too. Mine didn't have power windows, but it's replaced with a crap holder.

I hear that the 2.4/stick does 0-60 in 8.0 seconds or less. If this is true then the HHR is certainly not underpowered. I can't say that about the 2.2 automatic though. With almost 30 less hp this combo would strike me as being a flatlander's special.

The window switches on the center console do take a bit of getting used to in the Equinox too. But you eventually get used to it.
