Qatar is nr 3 in natural gas reserves, IIRC. Oil and gas wealth tends to spread around; hopefully they will be able to successfully diversify their economy.

The country is completely spoiled by it's energy wealth. 100 years ago there was nothing there, in 100 years there will be nothing there. Spend it while you got it. Daytime high was 115 when I was there last week.

Sounds like the Phoenix metro area, climate wise. Without irrigation and air conditioning, there wouldn't be 4.5 million people in the Sonoran desert. Phoenix and Las Vegas are places that logically make no sense to be as big as they are...

Biofuel = getting less energy out of more energy put in. We need EV1s and Nuke power is what we need.

its probably cheaper to burn coal/oil in a traditional plant for the same time period than it is to build a nuclear plant.
