You think Obama wants to be known as the President that allowed GM to fold under his watch? Bush didn't want that title either, that's why he provided just enough loans to get GM to March.

yes. but i mean it in a way as in gov shouldn't favor or frown on individual companies... today it's welfare, tomorrow it's monopolies. just something to think about.

Your food is heavily subsidized and thus whenever you eat you are the recipient of welfare.

So yes, every person and company in the nation is the recipient of welfare.

Milk (through subsidies and price controls), Sugar (through tarrifs) , cigarettes (through price controls), Corn (through legislative requirements and price controls), Beef (through subsides), soybeans (subsidies), cotton (subsides), peanuts (subsides)..... the list goes on and on.

i meant i'm fairly certain vegetables aren't directly subsidized...hence why salad seems so expensive compared to beef and other things.
