This is the worst PR move a union could ever make. It's Christmas... couldn't it wait until the New Year!

it just goes to prove the flaws in depending on mass transit to an extremely high percentage.

What else do you suggest people do in NYC? If they all drove it would be like the situation now. That union is just disgusting and should be fined for every penny they have.

What they are doing in NYC is what makes all unions look bad. They were offered 3% per year for the term of the contract but they want 6%... how the hell can the city afford 6% pay raise every year. The best they should get is inflation +.5% and that is ~3%. Any more than that throws the city's finances into a mess.
