So I've been talking about buying a 1959 Buick of some sort for a couple months now. I'm dead set on doing it as soon as the Camaro goes off to a good home and as of last week I've made the first step towards completing this mission.

I'm now the owner of 0.03% of a 1959 Buick.

I bought a '59 Massachusetts License Plate from a classic car junkyard the other day. Set me back a cool $3.00 too. I was walking along with my buddy Ross and I glance at a 1950 Ford and notice a "59 MASS" plate on the back of it. It only took me about 20 minutes to get the damn thing off the back of the car since it was rusted on like a porthole on the Titanic. Now all I need is to buy a passanger side fender, the driver's headlight trim and trunklid for a '59 and I'll tell Marcia "but I HAVE to buy the rest of the car, look at how much I've already collected for the eventual purchase"

For 1959 Mass plates had a burgundy background with white text. This one was one solid color: RUST. I cleaned it off with a dirty shop rag & then sanded down the characters/header. N66-477 seems easy enough to remember.

Yikes, if the year was stamped into it, that means a new plate was issued yearly... that's a lot of busy prisoners.

Actaully it just used to be the year of issue. Many states used to be like that. I'm a pretty rabbid License plate collector and have a lot like this. Collecting License plates is the only thing that's almost as cool as collecting antique cars. :)
