Surprise Surprise. They have to inject a few anti-american barbs in an article when describing the car.

Though, the rest of the article is surprisingly fair until the end. In fact, it's drives well in their eyes.

But let's not forget that this car is still made by the same nation that built the Space Shuttle, whose only purpose these days is apparently to be periodically jettisoned into space in order to break down and be repaired before returning.

But let's not forget that this review was written by a citizen of the same nation that invested and helped build the Europa rockets, whose only purpose in its day was apparently having stages that wouldn't separate from each other, being thrown of guidance by an inferior intertial navigation setup, and utterly failing after eleven launch attempts.

Who was the first British astronaut in space? Helen Sharman? Selected by applying through a radio advertisement? Launched, when, in 1991? On a Soviet Soyuz rocket?

Yeah. Nice jab.

Try sticking to cars next time, Mike 'phone' Booth.

LOL, imagine that.... A joke about AMERICAN reliability from a BRITISH source....LMAO and to top it off, it comes on the eve of European marques proving to overall ONCE AGAIN be the least reliable cars on earth. (Consumer Reports/J.D. Power anyone?)

Cadillac CTS: A Euro contender or an American loser?
Would suit: Trailer trash types with airs

Well, these first lines pretty much destroy what little credibility (If any--it is theUK after all) the author had.

And what makes me sick: at the bottom of the article is a link praising the new Lexus IS.

So, these idiot brits won't give an American car a fair review, but LIKE AMERICANS they'll surely let their once enemy, Japanese friends come in on a free ride and destroy their workers jobs?

Seriously I don't see Britain with their own space program.

Britain doesn't even have their own CAR industry anymore.

I love that his Euro-bias is so bad that he has to revise history- and ignore his own sentence. He writes:

Cadillac has clearly made an effort with the styling, drawing on themes from its angular Evoq Roadster show car of 1999

then

I have a feeling the designers were attempting to ape BMW's current shock-and-awe approach to automotive design

Yes, Cadillac was so much apeing BMW they managed to get in the Wayback machine and get the Evoq out two years before the first Bangled Bimmer appeared at Frankfurt, and debut the CTS at Pebble Beach a month before that auto show of that 7-series. Who knew Cadillac was that clever?

I guess that the journalistic standards in the Empire upon which the sun has long set doesn't include spending three minutes on the internet to check his facts.......

Anti-American bias from the british? No wayyyyyyyyyy......

>>"it felt faster and more agile than my Audi with no sacrifices in ride comfort, and a pleasure to drive."<<

These guys are really going to rack up some therapist bills trying to wrap their roten teeth around reality, eh? Edited by balthazar

This one seemed quite fair compared to the "Booth" article. That one was pure rubbish... which coincidentally matched the reputation of the Independent.

Dont worry guys its not all bad. Here they say some good things about the CTS but also point out some of its shortcomings.

You guys ALL have to remember that in England, they drive cars SO much different than what we are used to. They are accustomed to smaller and more nimble cars. We are used to bigger, more comfortable cars. Of course, even a car like the CTS is going to not neccessarily their cup of tea. The CTS is a HUGE car over there....to them.... If you buy and read the British rags such as CAR, TopGear, and EVO, you'll get a much better understanding of where they are coming from.
