I was checking prices at Avis the other day and there was a big ad on the website stating Avis would be the exclusive renter of the new Camaro.

It's just like Hertz renting Mustangs. People like to rent cars that they like. I only like renting GM vehicles, and I love it when I get a Malibu to drive around for a week. It makes me want one real bad.

If I got a G6, not so much.

I was driving to work yesterday, and noticed at our AVIS Rental car center thats attached to our sears auto center was a Camaro....with a barcode on the window. :(

And why is it a bad thing if it is a great product, and can be used as a free advertising and test drive source, yet making some profits by going into the fleets?

They are charging out the ASS for Camaro rentals. They've made it part of their Premium collection.

FWIW, I've seen Vettes, CTSes, Nissan 350zs, Solstices, Infiniti FX35s, M35s, 3-series, 5-series all available in the Premium collections. Not bad company.

I should definitely rent one for a day.

And then buy one... :AH-HA_wink: Someone in my family will either my son or I will be getting an SS for sure.

Nah, I want a musclecar not a ponycar.

I know you like the Dodge Challenger, because it weighs more. Not that the Camaro is light at 3,800 lbs that is muscle enough to me. :iroc-dragster:

I bet the rental rates won't be the most favorable....at least early on....

They get a little bit more coin out of people to have that Mustang convertible in SoCal or Fla for a week.

Well, the issue is when you sell 60% or 70% of your production to daily rental fleets, not when you fleet cars at more modest percentages. Fleeting a relatively small % of your production can be a good showcase to potential consumers.

It's not the weight, it's the size.

I just like a car slightly bigger than Camaro as a rule.

You do have a thing for boats. The Challenger and Camaro are both boats I would love to drive and own tho. In good time a Camaro will come. :neenerneener:

In Vegas you can rent a Porsche 550 Spyder kit car,

Lotus Elise, Mini Cooper Convertible, Dodge Viper

(all with manual transmissions of course) or even a

Lamborghini, those are certainly not $hitboxes. :P

Well.... a Lamborghini w/out paper cutter doors is

pretty., errr... *bites tongue*

Took the words right outta my mouth.
