Picked-up the correct passenger side mirror for free from a C4C truck this morning, and started to figure out the aftermarket stereo.

Minor update:

I ordered the nuetral safety switch I need from GM and may have located a place to buy the patch panel(s) I need to fix the tailgate hinge mount area.

Should be lots of good sheet metal with all of the CFC trucks in yards.

If you can't find something let me know, local Pick N pull looks like a GM plant Storage yard from 1993 with all the CFC stuff.

Thanks, but you'd have to cut this piece out from the C4C donor. It is a structural member and I think the less invasive method of using a patch panel will make a better and stronger repair.

It took a while to find a place that has them, the aftermarket hasn't really caught up to these vehicles yet. From GM the part was the for the whole rear opening and cost over $800 list! It has been discontinued anyway, so aftermarket or custom fabrication are the only options.

I haven't explained this all that well, but it is a very strange situation to say the least. The whole part in question is a serious chunk of the vehicle - think doorjamb. It is a huge, reinforced piece that interfaces with the floor, quarter panels, and roof! Mine only rotted right around the hinges at the bottom of the tailgate - the rest of it is solid.

Minor update:

I've installed the correct mirror on the passenger side, and a new serpentine belt (the old one came off in two pieces). I got a new int. wiper control board for the wiper motor as mine tends to "stall" - seems to have been a common issue with these. Haven't installed it yet, but will soon.

I have been driving the Blazer as my daily for the most part, and am really enjoying it. That said, I hope to complete the project soon and get it sold.
