I've no fear of it.

I'm relatively old. Pre-senior-hood.

Any 'start-up' new world order or world government would likely miss me on the first pass and by the time they know my number/name, I'll be dead.

Embrace the horror folks.

Hell no. We can't even get NAFTA to work properly.

The death squads attendant to the border drug trade are pretty efficient.

I'd like to see an 'X-games' based on driving them onto the Baja peninsula and forcing 'em into the sea.

Pshhhht the UN is a POS so I cant imagine anything larger would work. What's up with the google ad? Does CG have those now?

the UN is a confederation of nations, and is, by nature, very weak.

A world government would be awful, even less receptive to the needs of its citizens than current governments, and would be grossly inefficient with large swaths of lawlessness.

...unless you want a colonial system.

Fear not! The world government is your friend.

The election season for a global president might last 3 years?

Some stinkhole country will be the new "battleground state."

sounds great...

You... don't... actually think governments exist to serve the needs of their citizens, do you ?

I believe a properly functioning one does.

Not that a properly functioning one exists.

not much anymore....

just creates more positions where officials, elected or not, dont' know, don't care what their constituents want.

Yes! Very much so. It's only a matter of time before we or our children or our children's children will be toiling in underground salt caves at the hands of our global oppressors. There is no hope. The end is near. Ruuuuunnnnnnnnn!!!! Now! why you still can.

Let's just all hope this does not happen before 2012!

The WWF is something so cheesy it makes me cringe.

It's like a soap opera for little boys. I honestly think

that has to be the most efficient way to kill brain cells.

BUT

I'm glad that you brought that up.

Every Armchair Fan of History knows that to control a

large population, whether it be thousands or millons

you need a good distraction. You need entertainment.

in 2009 we have an excellent reincarnation of the

Circus Maximus of Roman fame: TV.

Instead of piling into the Colosseum to watch Roman

blood sport we have HDTV, Satellite & You Tube to

keep the masses distracted.

The attempt by the so called powers that be, at a

World Government, is something that scares the crap

out of me.

It's time for us as a Nation to ARM ourselves, both

with knowledge & with firearms.

I believe the current political turmoil is a greater

threat to our way of life than the Cold War ever was.

The systematic elimination of the middle class is no

accident. And most conspiracy theories exist just to

distract us from the true conspiracy.

Sixty8, that was largely WCW and not WWF/E, although they had a short run there too.

And I answered "no." A world government would only have as much internal stability as GM does right now.

I usually get poor people to drive me. I offer then a Big Mac and they drive me around. But when they dont come around to open my door, I throw the Big Mac in the sewer.

fashion-driven items... iPod nanos, Cell Phones with touch screen

Only single one of these I have/partake in/ pay any attention to is broadband internet.

The rest (and actually; the internet too) is no more than 'manufactured need'.

You say that like those products are a bad thing...I like my SUV, my widescreen HDTV, my TiVo, my DVDs, my wireless broadband internet, laptops, iPod Classic, cellphone, CDs, 7.1 surround sound, etc...having lots of choice is a good thing. Not to mention huge selections at the grocery, and a huge selection of groceries to choose from....and a huge selection of restaurants with a vast array of cuisines to sample...I would much rather be in the here and now than the 1950s...

Yeah, but some people are either too convinced that there is a conspiracy (or their cable was shut off) so they have to sit around and think that a handful of people are plotting to take over the world.

Entertainment is not BAD in and of itself.

It's when it eclipses your REAL life that the problem manifests.

True enough..

Yeah, like people that obsess over celebs like Britney, Paris Hilton, etc and have to read/watch everything about them all the time....and reality shows do utterly suck. I remember a time, long ago, when MTV actually played music videos.

I mostly love having the big HD TV for watching movie and concert DVDs... don't really need to watch CNN or network TV in HD.

WE already have a world government.

It's called "globalization" and consists of corporations that aren't accountable to anyone (Recent history has given us a good glimpse of this)

What ever happened to Picture-in-Picture?

I think people just have more than one television now. Some of the newer televisions will let you watch like 4 stations at a time ALA Back to the Future Part II

I'd love to be able to split a 60 inch screen into 4 or 6 panels, so I can watch CNN/BBC News/MSNBC/a movie/a couple tv shows/etc at once..though the sound would overlap and be hard to follow..

Individual corporations do not make a global government, globalization exists only due to first world's countries inability to compete in manufacturing due to various regulations and laws (not sayin that they are all bad of course).

Besides, corporations are accountable to their shareholders (or stakeholders).

I've been wondering the same thing myself; the reason I keep my CRT Toshiba is because PiP lets me watch Letterman and Leno simultaneously, and know who has good guests, and who has Carrot Top.

Yes, and what else do you expect a company to focus on?

You do realize that a company will do whatever it takes to make money right? Thats why so many companies were "going green" because that was a marketing tactic (and sometimes somewhat substantial) that would garner the companies more profits because people were willing to pay for it.

Do not forget that it is YOU who votes with your dollars how companies act to an extent.

I think corporations should be held accountable for their actions.

(And yes I did know all of that, it's one reason I do not believe in the green movement)

I could see us one day having a planet just like the movie Star Ship Troopers. If you want to have babies, you must first due your tour and then become a citizen and then you can have babies.

Sucks it up Boys and Girls. You fight till your either dead or the enemy is dead!
