Another quick question for the gamers here...

I just picked up a free PS2 today (old style), and I'm trying to remember if these came with "bricks" or not. (My PS2 slim does)

My slim seems to have an "hour" issue-sometimes it just shuts itself off after an hour, and I know the brick itself is fine..

Here's to hoping...

Are you letting it get sufficient cooling (the slim)? That sounds like a heat related issue. The slim doesn't have a cooling fan like the brick does.

Ah...I forgot to say that I was referring to that black box on the cord that the slim comes with....

And it gets plenty of air (nothing around it at all)

I'm wondering if it could be a dust issue.....

It would be a good idea to get a can of air and blow the dust out. Dust can cause a lot of heat buildup.

As for the plug. The old PS2's didn't use a brick. However you can use the slim PS2's power cord. The cord the goes from the outlet to the brick unplugs from said brick. That plug is the type that the old PS2 uses, so you can just plug it right in.

Cool! I'm going to clean the slim, and ready the old one.

If I'm lucky, both will work well and I'll have a back up.....
