So... all of you have each owned a Viking, a Scripps-Booth, a Ewing, an Elmore, a Rainier, a Randolph and a Reliable ???

What the hell is the chance of THAT ?

Personally have NOT owned a Cadillac, Oldsmobile, GMC, Saturn, Hummer or saab.

HAVE owned multiple Chevys, Pontiacs & Buicks.

Would LIKE to own a few Cadillacs at some point.

I'm proud to say I've never owned a Geo.

I've never owned a GMC, LaSalle, Marquette, Oakland or Hummer.

oh, and I forgot Holden, Opel & Vauxhall.

I have driven a couple Opels. nothing

exciting... just modern day rental cars in

Slovakia/Austria.

For me:

Saturn

Saab

Never owned a Saturn, had a SAAB once

though SAAB & Saturn are not REALLY

GM in my eyes. Never were, esp. SAAB.

The terms "off-shoot, subsidiary &

parent company" come to mind.

---

On a related note the last three German

cars I've bought, with my wife in mind

each time, have been distractions from

my quest or another Pontiac.

I have not owned a Pontiac in too long.

A pre-war Pontiac is my current semi-

obtainable pie-in-the sky dream.

Yeah, I never thought I'd own a bulldozer and a dump truck... (I'm a computer geek, remember) but life throws weird things at you.

Of the post-war US-sold brands, I have never had a Cadillac, SAAB, Saturn or GEO.

With the gas crunch and due to parking constrains in NYC, I considered a Saturn or GEO that I was going to modify into a shorter, two-seat version.

Eventually, I will have a Cadillac. Probably an Eldo. Because I'm 137 years old.

I have so far not owned:

-Pontiac

-GMC

-Chevrolet car (but have owned two trucks)

-Oakland, LaSalle, Marquette, Viking, and all the other neat ones that are no longer with us.

Saab and Saturn and Geo and Daewoo don't count; never have and never will. Hummer also doesn't count unless it's an H1, which I haven't owned but hope to have for a yard truck/plow truck/dump runner some day (preferably in camouflage or desert camouflage)

Considering only those brands that existed in the 80's and up and only those available in NA, then my immediate family has NEVER OWNED a:

Cadillac

GMC

Geo

Hummer

Saab

Saturn

My immediate family has never owned, of the extant US-market brands during my life:

Buick, Daewoo, Geo, GMC, HUMMER, Oldsmobile, SAAB, Saturn.

The foreign and much older brands go without saying.

My grandma drives a Saturn, and my parents have owned Buick, Chevy, Pontiac. I've only owned Chevy.

So, we haven't had a GMC, Cadillac, Hummer, Olds, or Saab.

I'll have to do my immediate family, because I've only driven Chevy.

Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, and Oldsmobile are all the GM brands my parents have owned.

Ditto.

Of the big 5 car brands, either my parents or myself have owned Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick. Never a Cadillac.

My dad had to be convinced into a Pontiac, a basic LeMans coupe with an inline 6 and no A/C bought from an elderly person and with low miles, that actually turned out to be the most dependable car he had ever had. He then became receptive to Pontiac. (My dad had one bad Ford and one bad Chrysler, causing him to buy GM from then on).

I have more of an "emotional" connection with the 2 Cutlass Supremes I've owned, but my 2 Buicks have been very good cars.

Oh... If we're going to strech the definition to Daewoo

then I've never owned a Suzuki or Subaru either.

It's a shame GM sold off their shares in Subaru and yet

kept Saturn, SAAB & Hummer. :(

Just the brands that have been around in my lifetime, I have never owned:

Chevy

Cadillac

Geo

GMC

Hummer

Oldsmobile

SAAB

Saturn

or any of the foreign only brands

if you include my immediate family Chevy, GMC, and Oldsmobile drop off the list.
