I really think we need to have a more active front page. it's already set up in a blog style. Why can't we simply get the Auto stories from the major news sources posted in the forums and then linked to from the front page. Or have articles in the forums linked to the front page with a headline, post snippet and small photo?

I would love to do this. I emailed FLY about it, but I think he may not be checking his mail. I am currently not working and have plenty of time on my hands. This would be something I would love to do, which would really help C&G stay competitive with other auto news and discussions sites.

What do you guys think?

You could set up RSS feeds on GM related topics from sites like Autoblog, Insideline, etc to automate a lot of the manual posting and keep the front page fresh. Just a thought.

Yes, everything on the front page is a month old or more. I don't know about other users, but I never go to the front page--I have the main forums page book marked and just do 'view new posts' when I visit the site and auto-subscribe to everything I post to..

I suggested RSS feed a little while ago, I think it would be an excellent thing to implement on the site. The main page is VERY slow to update, and I too just use the "view new posts".

Pssh, this is the only forum I go to on a regular basis and enjoy the most, and since web updates are my thing, it shouldn't be too hard to keep it up.

:P

Hey there, we noticed you're using an ad-blocker. We're a small site that is supported by ads or subscriptions.
