What General Motors car, is actor, Burt Reynolds closely associated with?

In this photo from the fantastic movie 'Deliverance', Burt is on the right and there is also another actor of note in his own right....and he's also the father of a very famous current actress. Who is he?

Yeah, but didn't the sequels have later cars? Haven't seen them in a long time.

Uhhhhh.... never watched the sequels, you're right I guess. :P

There was a nice 2nd gen. Pontiac F-body in Corvette Summer, got totaled in the final scene IIRC. :(
