I saw this a while ago, but the beard conversation reminded me of it, so I thought I'd share.

LONDON (Reuters) - The world's oldest recorded joke has been traced back to 1900 BC and suggests that toilet humour was as popular with the ancients as it is today.

It is a saying of the Sumerians, who lived in what is now southern Iraq and goes: "Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband's lap."

Classic humor that never gets old. 8)

What's to get? It's a fart joke. Just goes to show how toilet humor spans all times and cultures.

So they used the word "fart"--but I don't get the "joke" part.
