Spies have captured the 2010 Kia Sorento (code-named XM) undisguised for the first time today. Slated to go on sale in 2009, the redesigned Sorento will share the Hyundai Santa Fe's unibody platform. This is yet another work penned by Peter Schreyer and cues heavily from the Kia KND-4 Concept that debuted in Seoul last year.

Mentioned earlier, the 2010 Sorento will not be a body-on-frame car like the current model. Rather, it will share a unibody platform with the Hyundai Santa Fe. It will be available in two powertrain configurations: a 3.8L Lambda V6 or a 3.0L VGT turbodiesel engine. No further information has been released or speculated.

The 2010 Kia Sorento will be manufactured in Kia's West Point, Georgia plant - the automaker's first North American assembly line. The engine will be assembled in Hyundai's Montgomery, Alabama plant that also produces the Santa Fe and Sonata.

I dunno if it's ok to post the image or not, if it isn't just take it down.

Anyway, based on the photos that is a damn good looking CUV so far, and not "for a Kia", compared with any of the ones on the market right now. It's not ground breaking, but it's far better looking than several of the current crop of CUVs.

Interior looks nice too. Kia's designs are better than Hyundai's at this point.

I like the headlight treatment..the light cluster shapes are very Acura-ish...

exactly what I was thinking, other than the grill, it looks like it could be an Acura, including the grill shape.

Well you know, except for the fact that Acura now is putting that huge, ugly shield grill on all of their cars now.

That's what I'm saying, I think that huge, ugly shield grill would fit in the grill shape on this vehicle. lol

i thought subie..../Saab.

the rest of it looks edge-ish but that's much harder to tell.
