GM Holden will unveil its new value-packed VE Ute 60th Anniversary Special Edition at theNational 4x4 Show in Brisbane this week. Adding to an already impressive list of standard features including ESP® and 18-inch alloy

wheels, the VE Ute 60th Anniversary Special Edition boasts over $2,000# of extra value, including leather faced seats and alloy foot pedals. Based on the popular SV6 model in Holden’s award winning VE Ute range, the VE Ute 60th

Anniversary Special Edition includes the following additional features:

• Onyx leather seat trim

• Bluetooth® connectivity for compatible mobile phones

• Sports profile steering wheel

• 6 disc in dash MP3 compatible CD player

• Alloy foot pedals

• 60th Anniversary floor mats

• 60th Anniversary badge on rear tailgate

Expected in dealerships mid-May, the VE Ute 60th Anniversary Special Edition is priced at $36,990* (manual) and $37,990* (automatic).

Also on display on the Holden stand will be a selection of models from the popular Captiva and

Captiva

The Captiva models on display include a range of impressive standard safety features such as AWD, ESP®, and driver, front passenger and curtain airbags. In its first full year of sales, Captiva was the third best selling model in the highly competitive Medium SUV segment in 2007 with sales in the first quarter up over 40% on the same period last year.

Rodeo

The Rodeos on display have a 3000kg braked towing capability and feature a 3.0-litre VCDi engine which meets strict Euro IV emission requirements. Peak power of 120kW is achieved at 3600rpm and peak torque of 360Nm is achieved at 1800 rpm (manual)** and 333Nm at 1600rpm (automatic) **.

GM Holden in 2008

2008 is a diamond year for GM Holden which will be recognising a number of key anniversaries. The "60th anniversary" shot shows the color pretty well, I guess. But I've seen real-world pics of a Commodore painted in "karma" and it looks much darker and greener. If you run across a real-world pic of a Ute in that color please post it!

I think it is my leading contender when it comes time to order my next new ride.
