DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

General Motors Corp. (GM) expanded its rewards credit card guidelines to allow customers to purchase or lease a new Saturn vehicle.

Customers with the GM cards earn rewards with credit card purchases that can be redeemed for the purchase of an eligible GM vehicle or 1% cash back.

The Detroit auto maker said the GM Card and the GM Flexible Earnings Card previously only allowed buyers to earn credits toward the purchase or lease of a Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Cadillac or Hummer.

Wow, about time! Now an Astra looks much more like an option for my brother when he gets his license.

Astra has got to be the most under rated car on the planet right now. GM really did a great job with this one.

If the next Cobalt is anywhere near this damned good things are going to get ugly in the small car market.
