The thing didn't even have a plate, let alone lights or a rear window. These folks were asking for it.

A rudimentary safety inspection (at least brake lights & good tie rods)

& mandatory slow lane around town. Then they'd have my blessing.

On the one hand it's a waste of a perfectly good BOF/RWD Buick but I

think it's kind of a cool concept. Seems like they lightened up the car

quite a bit... a lightweight unibody 4dr sedan might have been a better

starting point. Perhaps even a Park Ave?

yes, but i wonder... a BOF might have been the best choice because they cut the floor out.. i dont wanna see a unibody car with the floor cut!

it looks like a bike, but has a motor in it... plates license required (motor cycle)

it is a bike, a 5 year old could ride it down a street obeying traffic laws. (real bike)

yes, it's bigger, can cause injury... inspect it for brakes then who gives a $#!T. do 4 wheels constitute making it a "car".. is it the engine, is it the size, ... prolly not, just because it's on public roads is why he got the ticket....?

making it have a plate makes it sound like ... it's supposed to be more than just an...oddity. it's like saying that parade floats should have plates visible, lights and a rear windshield. it just seems outrageous to me, even if it is just for the safety of the occupants that willingly jumped into the car.. [sarcasm] cause it's definitely gonna be going out in bad weather / after dark.[/sarcasm]

anyway... i wonder how light the thing is, and how fast some very good bikers cold get it to go....it is a 5speed the guy said.

Here's another point to ponder: would you rather be inside this "car" that

actually surrounds you with some metal, spartan as it may be, or would

you (again, worst case scenario) rather get hit while on a bicycle?

I think we all know which is safer, so then the question becomes: how

can we do a basic rudimentary safety inspection and they're good to go,

same as anyone else on a bike or other human powered contraption.

Here's an idea:

Lightweight electric car that you can peddle in to help charge the batteries

via oversized generator/alternator....
