Brand Sales Surge 12.9 PercentAUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced March 2008 sales of 19,587 units, a 12.9 percent increase over the March 2007 sales of 17,355 vehicles. On a year-to-date basis, 2008 Volkswagen sales are 0.4 percent ahead of 2007 sales through March.

The Jetta, consistently Volkswagen’s top sales performer, posted a 19.7 percent increase over March 2007 results. Passat sales were 13 percent ahead of March 2007 totals.

March 2008 represents the best Volkswagen sales month since August 2007. Reflecting anticipation of open air summer driving, New Beetle convertible sales were up 14.1 percent. Furthermore, March 2008 represents the best Eos sales month since June of 2007.
