i read this. the rankings aren't really fair.. they're only the worst cars according to the way consumer reports rates their cars. they don't take into account, for example, the wrangler's offroading capabilities or the yaris's reliability and affordability. people should take those rankings with a grain of salt.

How does the Wrangler get rated as worst? It appeals to a specific set of buyers, not Camry driving, latte sipping yuppies.

The Jeep products have always rated really low at CR.

Read a 4 wheel drive magazine and you'll get another story.

The Yaris, Forenza, and FJ really belong on the list. The Japanese have built some great vehicles, but these three ain't it.

For several of the models they specify that their ratings do not take into account off-roading ability, which is the primary purpose for at least two of the vehicles on that list (well the FJ is debatable...). Overall I think it's a stupid list, as they're giving the Jeep a bad name even though it is a good vehicle for its purpose.

Yeah, from this list, I'd omit the following:

Wrangler - You've all said it. If any other company could do this car this well, they would.

Patriot - Really? From a brand standpoint, it makes more sense than the Compass...not that I actually like the Patriot, just better than the Compass.

H3 - The H3 has done pretty well for GM hasn't it? Everybody needs to stop hatin' on Hummer and realize that no matter what, some people will want a big, tough truck.

Borderline list: Liberty & Yaris...the rest can stay.

I've noticed that the slick, glossy pages of Consumer Reports make for really awful buttwipe. So that magazine has no value whatsoever in our household.
