On Lincoln Way in east Ames, a few stations are currently having some type of gas war. Right now, regular unleaded is $2.09 per gallon at the Citgo, Casey's, and Phillip's 66 all right by each other. About half a mile west is a BP where 87 is $2.48, and further west most stations are averaging $2.50. It's crazy...I filled up my car for less than $30 for the first time in months!

What luxury. We are paying .93 a litre, which works out to $4.22 an Imperial gallon, even allowing for the smaller American gallon, that is $3.38. But we were paying $1.30 six weeks ago.

It's dropped to around the low 2.30s here...Maybe it will keep going down.. At least one can hope :) Keep in mind though, the government let some of the rules down so that gas would drop...so the quality of the gas might not always be that great... nothing a new fuel filter wouldn't fix though....

My thoughts exactly, I hope they do strike. Have them park on I-75 and I-80 and stop two of the biggest interstates in the nation. Edited by CD/BP

2.62 for regular around here. Thats down from the 2.69 avg thats been around here now for the last month. However the gas stations along the interstate on the way to work still havn't dropped. Still 2.89 for regular those sick bastards Edited by Brandon Lutz

Gas prices around WNY are still pretty high. A few weeks ago, we had the second highest prices in the country. I think the average now is like 2.75 + and it's partially because of NY state taxes. It's ridiculous how the state taxes the hell out of everyone even when people are moving out left and right and then sends all the money downstate to NYC. If you plan on moving here, don't do it if you don't want to pay all these taxes. Go anywhere else but New York State.
