I am guilty of buying too many cars. In the past three years I have owned a 1999 Grand Am, 1993 GMC Sierra, 2003 Corolla, 1985 Grand Marquis and a 2005 Acura RSX. Looking at that I have wasted too much money on cars. I have the RSX and access to my fathers Sierra (which I am beginning to love) at the current time. I want to drop the RSX in favour of a new truck, but I am going to get raked over the coals. Is there a help clinic for people like me? The only other option is to work at a car dealer and get new demos every 8000 kms! Edited by Cremazie

Let's see.. I drove my mom's 88 Lebaron in High School. Got my 97 Achieva a little before graduation in 02 and have been driving it since. I'm not planning on getting a new car till I finish college (whenever that may be) so unless my car dies.. I'm just gonna run it to the ground.

Though, being the car fanetic I am, I'm guilty of specing out all sorts of vehicles and drolling over some purchases. Like a month ago I was really considering a 94 Z28 that had a $3k price tag on it.. thankfully I didn't get it because it's still on the lot with a bra on it (to cover up the paint chiping/wear) and down to $2.5k

I strongly consdier it way too often. Like a few months ago when I almost pulled the trigger on getting an '05 Civic then realized I didn't have the money to register it. Similar situation a few weeks ago with a Mini Cooper that would be in my garage now if it weren't for the insurance I would have had to pay. Damn bad driving record.

I'm telling you guys, working for a dealership is the only way! When I was in sales, the straight commission made me crazy some months, but once I was offered a position that was salary with another dealership, i get the best of both worlds!

Hi, my name is Bill and I'm an autoholic. I am 41 years old, and I've owned 19 vehicles. 3 of which were not brand new.

Damn bad driving record.

Most of my driving record BS has long passed and I'm quite a bit over 25...I should be all good with my next car (if it's something old)

My "bad driving record" consists of ONE speeding ticket, as of right now. I had one that fell off over the summer. A bunch that didn't go on my record (I *heart* being able to plead guilty to equip. violations) and an accident in which nobody was at fault. I currently pay $208/month for my L200 with so-so coverage. It would've been closer to $300 for the Mini. I had been paying $275/month on the Saturn but that was with a car payment of $186/month. The Mini would have been a little more than that $275 for INS but almost twice that for car payments.

I've owned 19 vehicles, 1 of which was brand new. In fact, the average model year of all the vehicles I've owned is currently 1963. For about 5 years running I bought 2 vehicles per year; slowed way down since then. I'm only a few years behind you in age.

I've driven 21 years and owned 8 vehicles, 2 of which were used. I think a new vehicle every 3 years is reasonable.

That's why I love salary plus comission. Speaking of that, I should get your owner of your dealership to get "telus" as his provider. Bring him over with the Solstice.

By the way...my Solstice is STILL at 3000 and has been since 8/30!!!!

I bought a 2000 Monte Carlo with 28,500 miles in July of 2001. Traded it for the new Equinox in March this year. Is that too much?

I am definately guilty of this. Not of buying new cars but cars that are new to me. Of course, between my wife and I we have 7 cars and trucks right now. 67 C-10 72 Skylark Convertible 87 IROC 95 Z/28 96 Metro 99 Z/28 99 Silverado K1500 I was in an accident and had a pretty messed up back for a while and went through a bunch of daily driver cars for a while. Seats were uncomfortable. The wrecked car was an 87 IROC (not the one listed-that's the wife's). I got a 95 Saturn SC2, then a 91 MR2, 90 Corvette, then finally traded the Vette in for the 99 Z/28.

Josh: agreed. Telus is the best provider in Canada. I am on Rogers right now (almost as good) because I also have cable internet and TV from them, meaning I don't pay tax on any of it since I have 3 services.

I used to buy a new car almost yearly sometimes two in one year, have really slowed that down. I was notorious for driving by a dealership, see a hot car on the lot and within an hour was driving away in it. I even did that while on holidays in another city.
