80-100mph wind gusts, multiple funnel clouds spotted, started about 5:00, ended about 9:00 then started up again a little while ago. Fun stuff, I knew three 70 degree days in January was a bad thing.

I am totally defying the weather guy, I am sitting in my office on the outside portion of the house right next to a window. I'm a bad man. But realistically, the tornadoes were all either well north or due west moving northeast rapidly, so I wasn't about to get hit with. As for the wind gusts, well, I am in a brick house nestled between several other brick houses, my neighbors houses make excellent wind breakers. Now they're saying no rotation at the time, but still 70+ mph winds, comparing it to a Category 1 or Category 2 hurricane. They just canceled my tornado warning. The weather guys almost sound happy, like this is really what they live for, their one time to shine, and one dude keeps talking about his home owner's insurance.

Yeah, it was 62 here yesterday. It's unreal. We rarely get tornadoes here though... had one this summer, but again, that was a rarity.

There were bad tornadoes about 20 miles from my family farmhouse in McHenry, IL. The damage looked pretty serious, possibly EF3 or EF4. I can't get in touch with anyone at the farm this morning yet. I'm hoping for the best. Anytime it is in the 60's and 70's in that part of the country this time of year, it always ends up being bad news.

Nearly 60 degrees (for you Americans) here over night! In January. It's starting to melt my igloo! :AH-HA_wink:

I hope everyone is ok there, K.C.

It was sixty-six degrees just a few hours ago. Now it's raining and the wind is blowing like no tomorrow. Still warm out too.

Just last week, on New Years Day, there was snow. It really felt like winter for once. Now it's turned to spring in a little over a week's time.

For all those who had record highs in the 70's today, I say "Hold on to your ass Fred!" It's fixin to get nasty! Be safe guys!

The tornadoes hit about 25-30 miles north of the farmhouse. Unfortunately, I have a friend who lives in one of the towns that was hit, and I cannot get in touch with him. I'm concerned.

If we get a tornado here, everyone should worry.

Hope your friend is OK.

Yeah, and now the severe weather threat moves south today and tomorrow. Guys, y'all stay safe up that way, and I'll do the same today and tomorrow. Gotta love those mid-70, damn near 80 degree January days.....
