Seriously, I could see this being the Silverado of the future. Since we've seen the zenith of the housing boom and now tougher fuel regs, the age of the hulking pickup is coming to a close. We just won't be building in the U.S. like we used to after our ghost economy (built on haircutting and fried chicken sales) implodes. European tradesmen seem to do fine with smaller work vehicles. Why can't we? Giddyup.

I prefer an Opel Corsa based truck, and I'm sure you will all too! :smilewide:

You aren't hauling a couple yards of gravel or towing a skid loader with a Lambda, I can tell you that for sure.

My suggestion that a Lambda pickup would be a good idea wasn't meant for those that need a real, BOF, full-size truck for work or pleasure purposes. Think of all those people that buy a full-size pickup just to use on the weekends to go "antique shopping". Something smaller, more fuel efficient, and offers a better (i.e. more car-like) ride may be exactly what that market wants & needs. I'd still rather have a Sierra myelf, and if all this CAFE talk starts to make changes happen sooner rather than later, I may have to find a way out of my AURA lease and into a Sierra much quicker than I planned.

Which makes me suggest a RWD based Lambda platform. ;)

That won't happen. The lambda pickup might.

<With a Russian Accent> Interesting, first played in the Russian metalworkers championship in 1926.
