Im thinking about getting a navigation system for my car... not sure which brand i should go with... my Dad has a friend whos a trucker that swears by Garmin but TomTom looks good too... but im open to any brand so long as they are reliable and have good service... anyone have any experience with a particular brand that you loved? negative feedback is also welcome... any problems had with systems will definitely aid my choice... thanks

I've used a Garmin and have played with a TomTom and while they are both great units I preferred the TomTom's ease of use. I saw a commercial for a Navigon portable unit the other day. Go to their website and check those out. The maps are pretty neat. I wish I could help you more.

I just bought a Megellan on sale two weeks ago for $150. I'm happy with it... price considered.

My excuse for buying it is to get more proficient at my delivery at the Chinese Restaurant...

I have a Garmin bluetooth unit that works in tandem with my PDA, and the reliability and overall awesomeness of thsi setup is what stopped me from taking the plunge on a smartphone. I have experienc with TomTom's software and find it to be pretty user friendly, especially when driving. For Christmas I got my sister a TomTom ONE 3rd edition from Amazon - $150, no tax, no shipping.
