Chalk up another idiosyncrasis! For those of you who watch "Friday Night Lights", I'd bet I'm not the only one that noticed this....

On this past week's episode, one of the character's cars, a '75-'76 vintage Caprice/Impala wagon [believe it was the Caprice version; thought I saw the Caprice emblem on the front], was referred to as/called a "GMC wagon". In the same episode, when two of the characters torched the car, it suddenly went from being the big/roundish '75-'76 vintage Caprice/Impala wagon to the downsized/boxy '77-'79 vintage Caprice/Impala wagon. At least it was still a wagon, I suppose.

And, unless my memory and fact-finding is lacking, GM never produced a station wagon for the GMC brand....

Hmm....and I don't think we've seen Smash drive his 4th gen Monte Carlo SC yet this season....

I've heard people use GM and GMC interchangably, so its possible the GMC referred to General Motors and not the truck division.

Also, if by 'torched' you mean 'set alight by fire,' I'm very glad they incinerated a dime-a-dozen '77+ wagon over a -'76 clamshell.

I saw that too. I saw the Caprice wagon and the father kept saying GMC. Flybrian is right, when I recommend cars to people, they refer to GM as GMC. Technically they are right because it is General Motors Corporation. I saw that and I noticed the wagon that was torched was different. It will be interesting to see what happens next week.

Ahh...ya know, I hadn't even THOUGHT about the "GM Corporation" as being the GMC to which he was referring...THAT makes sense!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm glad they didn't torch the one he was driving ... awesome car and looked in good shape, too.

And, yes, Ninety Eight ... interesting to see what happens next week now. I can't believe the COP did that ... I can't wait to hear how he explains the sudden disappearance of his son's wagon ... and, for that matter, what his son will drive now....

Chris

They'll torch themselves up?

Indeed ... especially since the cop is the one that torched the car. Still not sure what he was thinking ... if at all.
