Getting better by the minute. I like the thought of Captain Kirk having representation on GM's board of directors. Shake things up a bit. I'm not worried about the financial arm anyway. General Motors is just that, a motor company. It's time to focus on your core business.

Captain Kirk has always been my all time favorite fictional character, maybe he can help save my all time favorite car company...

What exactly does that mean "focus on your core business?" If GMAC is the only profitable division of North American operations, what sense does it make to jettison it? Other than short term, fat profit, that is. Sears and The Bay are doing that in Canada with their credit divisions, then giving their shareholders a fat cheque. Where will the money come from in the future? If it means bankruptcy or selling off GMAC, that is one thing, but what if this is just another short-sighted shareholder binge?

Maybe Tracinda had to move. If they did'nt buy more to prop up the stock price. where would it be now? They have a lot to loose if GM's stock collapses

this is true... if the 2 billion falls to .5 billion, then where is he then? still a billionair?

most investors say, if stocks drop 7% to pull out and take your losses...

some might say 10-15% but 7% is a still eaisly retained...

kirk is loosing money by the minute and I bet he isnt happy about it....

GM needs to be shaken up, and quit thinking the 70's are coming back. And, thinking that they NEED to have 4-5 versions of the same car to please the brand fanatics.

I think that has to do more with the UAW and capacity.

Just MHO.

Kerkorian will most likely push for GMAC to be sold off then dump his stock right after the sale and pocket the money from the sale. He is a great business man but right now GM needs people with dedication to the company not to the dollar.
