A maroon sedan - alloys, etc. Obviously very new, but with far too many barcodes. Yup. It was a rental. I attempted a picture with my cell phone camera that didn't come out well, but it was definitely a rental. My evidence:

  • Four barcodes (two windshield, one on each quarter window)
  • Hotel parking pass
  • Hats and beach gear on the rear parcel shelf
  • An Enterprise rental contract on the dash

Just thought it was interesting.

I've only seen a couple on the roads, but the Honda dealer near my office has at least 30 or so on the lot..all sedans, though..haven't seen the coupes.

have seen a couple driving around. They actually look rather plain & boring, even bordering on cheap looking, IMO. The last gen looked more upscale to me.

I've seen a few around as well, I dont think any were rentals. One was an LX four cylinder model and the best way to describe it was low rent. I don't know if my eyesight is getting bad in my old age, but I find it hard to tell the difference between the Accord and the Sonata from the front.

My BPG/Hondo/Acura dealership has a gray coupe sitting out along the road. Since I have no love in my life and nothing really to do, I'll prolly check it out after hours, either this evening or tomorrow.

Funny, in my line of work, I thought this was going to be a "crash" thread.

Enterprise always offers better cars than Budget, Thrifty, Dollar and the like, who "proudly feature" the rental crap norm. I've seen a MINI Cooper S convertible and Toyota Prius with "My other car is an Enterprise-rent-a-car" plate frames, and the Enterprise at our local dealer has given us an X3, S40, and Maxima.

Wow... have never seen fleet sales justified by which rental car agency purchased them. Thrifty orders very heavily from Chrysler, Hertz leans toward Ford, and Avis from GM... since they favor those manufacturers is that why you feel they provide the "rental crap norm?" I agree Enterprise carries a large variety of manufacturers, but rental fleet sales are rental fleet sales... there is no glory regardless of which agency made the purchase.

In person, the new Accord reminds me of a modern Saturn L300.

I definitely see it too... The more I look the less I see BMW. The new Accords remind me of the Saturn L-Series mixed with the new Mercedes C-Class. I like the new Mercedes C-Class very much, but the Accord doesn't carry the styling very well IMO.

I don't claim to know much about rental agencies, but if there is one that tends to order more fully featured cars or upscale cars, while the other orders base model low end cars. Then I would say sales going to the higher end agency would certainly be a better sale. When someone rents a car, it's like they're test driving it. It's great advertising for the manufacturer, as long as the customer is pleased with the vehicle. Or it can have the opposite effect. As far as hurting resale value goes, it's still bad I would assume, to fleet vehicles.

Honda Reg has never really had an original thought on styling.

Other than the very, very, very slight resemblance in the rear fascia, I don't see it... But thanks for reminding us all how awful those Saturns looked. *gags*

Reg has never really had an intelligent nor original thought on anything at all.

Fixed x3. :P Edited by blackviper8891
