If anyone has the 25th anniversary issue of Car and Driver (sometime in 1980), they listed the quickest cars they ever tested 0-60. Their record holder was the 1965 (or 1964, forgive my memory) Pontiac 2+2 which recorded a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds, as I recall. That number is so low that I've got to question if their measuring devices weren't at fault. I hope not, but I still have to question it.

Cool video, those litttle Atoms sure are light & nimble but they're ugly as sin... one of the 7 deadly sins.

I have that issue somewhere in the basement storage area and I believe that it was 3.9 seconds, which was exceptionally fast for the era. I'll try to find the issue in the next few days, but it's stored with 50 years of car magazines, so it might take a while to find it.
