Went to a local car show on Sunday and found this '70 El Camino SS for sale:

Black interior with bucket seats, 396 c.i. V8 was under the hood, and a manual trans shifter was visible inside. PM me if you'd like the phone # (sorry, no price info was available at the show).

And just for Camino, I spotted this beauty at a nearby dealership (Walt's Pontiac dealership fyi)... I think as you're getting up there in age ( :P ), you should forget the Ute and get yourself one of these:

At your age, a nice, comfoy ride and shifting done for you may be the best bet. Just messin' with ya man!!! :thumbsup:

BTW: I'm not that friggin old! And that Caddy is for those already dead! It's a funeral flower car. :lol:

I can't ask for the number on the Camino - it would just be torture as the year, trans and color are perfect! When I found out the price it would just kill me.

Since I have piss poor knowledge about older cars except a Corvette, how much will that thing be?

Camino, one must come to terms with age and realize that "shifting" for yourself and "feeling" the road are things that youth covet in an automobile. You must see that the Cadillac El Camino is a perfect transition car, giving you the benefits of half car/half truck transportation, while taking you to the final resting place on the roadway of life.

I'm just messin' with you Bob! :lol: After the car show, I headed 2-3 miles north to Perrine Buick-Pontiac-GMC-Hummer to see what new 2008's were on the lot. I saw the Cadillac flower car when I first pulled onto the lot; I was about to leave and figured it would be funny to post that, since you're the resident El Camino fan here.

As for the '70 SS, if it's perfect why not? You had a '70 and wish you still did, so why not at least call and see what the deal is? Maybe the owner needs to get rid of it and will be willing to meet your price. It's worth a shot... and seeing as how you may be waiting longer for the "all-new" El Camino, why not enjoy the time driving something you truly love? I know, I'm a trouble-maker!

ocnblu, yes, that '65 Chevy appeared to have an "AS IS" warranty sticker on the rear door glass. I forgot to take some pictures of it before I left, and seeing it in the background of several pictures once I downloaded my camera at home is when I realized that fact. It is actually a Biscayne model, at least that's what the emblem said, and it had two tailights per side & is a post car. Pretty sharp looking, like it had work done in the past. Not sure of it's story, but it was parked on the lot.

Love the flower car... very cool. (too bad its FWD)

Either way the '70 ElCamino is sharp. I saw a '70 the other day myself.

Looked like a daily driver/beater. About 80% of the faded, scuffed and

peeling original blue metallic paint was complemented by a few spots

of rustoleum/primer. It sounded like a powerfull pushrod V8 was more

than enough to make up for the lack of cosmetics.
