Renault's Ghosn still sees tie-up with GM .Renault's CEO Carlos Ghosn said a tie-up with General Motors is not currently on the cards, but the 'strategy is inevitable in the long-term.

Speaking in an interview with Le Figaro,Ghosn said conditions for a merger are not right at present time because there seems to be little appetite for it at GM.

Renault and GM previously considered an alliance, but abandoned discussions last year. Edited by Toyota.vs.GM

thats funny, because GM doesnt see it...

unless GM is gonna buy nissan straight out, i'm pretty sure GM is not interested in being ruled, nor will any scot while he lives....

A blatant statement from a non-statesman. Another reason why I do not think highly of this guy.

Dear Ghosn, you have NOTHING to offer to GM, NOTHING. So stop day dreaming.

YES AMERICA!!!

Eventually ALL of your businesses will be foreign owned!

I hate that Ghosen is being so arrogant, but I can definitely see Nissan buying out GM simply because americans will never care enough to buy domestic cars anymore...

[/pessimism]

P.S. Nissan better get their $h! together on the home front before they even begin thinking about merging with or aquiring another company.
