...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM CDT WEDNESDAY...

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM CDT WEDNESDAY.

HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE REGION HAS CREATED A VERY STAGNANT WEATHER PATTERN FOR EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS. TEMPERATURES ON AN AFTERNOON BASIS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 99 TO 104 DEGREES THROUGH WEDNESDAY. HEAT INDICES WILL RANGE FROM 101 TO 107 DEGREES.

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING MEANS THAT A PROLONGED PERIOD OF DANGEROUSLY HOT TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE LIKELY. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN... AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.

Today's High-99

Monday's-100

Tuesday's-102

Wednesdays-103

Thursday's102

Friday's-96

We have extreme heat issued for the whole week. They said for people to stay in and stay cool. The thing that gets me it is happening in areas they normally do not get this hot. The thing is we are used to this in Texas. It is the humidity combined with the heat that is killer.

I'm glad Delaware is next to the Atlantic ocean. We can easily cool off.

God. By the time the sea breeze hits Maryland, it's hot and smells like... Delaware. Lucky...

Being shaded by mountains at my house it's about 90 average. However it has gotten up to 98 at ceartain parts of the day before.

I took off Thursday to go camping, and got back this afternoon. On Thursday here, it was hot and humid until I backed out of the garage, when it started pouring its butt off, and it rained hard all the way to the Lehigh Tunnel (gateway to the Pocono Mountains). On the other side of the tunnel it was just cloudy. Lucky for me, but I just got my campsite all set up when it started raining there. Friday was cold as heck and drizzly (low 60's for highs, mid 50's overnight, brrr...), I was in the tent for a good part of the day, bored, but then yesterday and today were glorious, low humidity, sunny days... perfect. Looks like more typical mid-August heat coming for this week, though, here. Edited by ocnblu

Good riddance summer!

I hear that. The forecast for the next 10 days is high 70's/low 80's and that I can deal with. Mid-to-low 70's for the high temp would be even better.

That's good to know. I need to visit the Wentzville, MO assembly plant one day this week before I take off for Europe.

A record low here in the Chicago area last night (39 degrees, lower in the suburbs), maybe 90 by midweek. I guess that's why they call it weather!

I thought this thread was about the girl that works on the 6th floor of my office building: That's excessive heat warning!!! :smilewide:
